Didn't noticed a topik that merged all the info regarding the 2008 grid, so here is how it should look

Ducati Malboro Casey Stoner/Marco Melandri
Fiat Yamaha: Valentino Rossi/J. Lorenzo
Rizla Suzuki: Chris Vermeulen/Loris Capirossi
Fausto Gresini Honda: Alex de Angelis/?!? Toni Elias ?!?
Repsol Honda: Nicky Hayden/ ?!?! Dani Pedrosa?!?
LCR Honda: Randy de Puniet
Kawasaki: John Hopkins/?!?!
Yamaha Tech 3 James Toseland/?!?
Ducati D'antin: Sylvain Guintoli?/
KR Team ????

P.S: i might not be that up to date, so correct if somethings wrong
 
Dovi confirms motogp next year in an interview on motogp.com. it's in italian though - anyone wanna translate it?!

(all I understood was "motogp" and "honda")

West at team green obviously

Not Konica Minolta, just JiR. As I understand it Konica Minolta will probably not be involved with Montiron/Dovi, but may still sponsor a different team.
 
Dovizioso goes to Montiron's team because it has merged with Scot, Dovi's team in 250

And it is rumoured than Konica could follow Nakano if he goes to Gresini.
 
As in Konica Minolta sponsoring the entire Gresini team? Or would Gresini become a 1 bike outfit?

De Angelis now confirmed for Gresini so 2 bikes.



Basically with the changes it is now:


Factory Ducati: Stoner and Melandri

D'Antin Ducati: Guintoli and offered contract to Elias

Factory Yamaha: Rossi and Lorenzo

Tech 3 Yamaha: Edwards and Toseland

Repsol Honda: Hayden and Pedrosa (TBC)

Gresini Honda: De Angelis and likely to be Nakano if Elias goes.

LCR Honda: De Puniet

Scot Honda: Dovizioso

Rizla Suzuki: Vermeulen and Capirossi

Kawasaki: Hopkins and West

Team KR: may not be on grid but probably be Kurtis if they are.


Assuming Pedrosa, Nakano and Elias go where they have offers or are expected to go all current teams are filled (except Team KR).

So no places for Barros, Hoffman and Tamada. Checa has gone to WSB.
 
Is it just me or is that one awesome grid, especially with some of the dead wood cleared i.e Barros, Checa, Tamada.. Bring on 08! Now some more teams being created would be nice, need more numbers..
 
I am still thinking that Pedrosa has not signed and its been announced because he is waiting to get the okay to be the number 1 HRC rider in a single man team in Repsol HRC...similar to the set up that Tamada/Biaggi team of 2004....thus allowing Dani to run Bridgestones...
 
Yes, 08 is gonna be sweet, but 09 is gonna be sweeter! Ben Spies will likely be on a Suzuki by then. Can't wait.

If Repsol does a team setup like that, where would that leave Nicky?
 
we need more teams. the grid is set for 24 regulars. where the hell is sito pons? where is the 2nd suzuki & kawasaki teams? wheres bmw? maybe another shot for aprilla! or maybe.... hhhheeeemmm... ilmor. or perhaps ktm will give it a go.

the only reason that the minolta team were .... was the rider.

maybe a little but he by far is the worst honda rider (not counting kurtis of course) even old man checa flogs him regularly.

He has already said that he'll get over it if he can be in GPs. He also claims that eh has a deal in place for 09.
