Decided to camp this year, we usually just ride there and back on the day, good times.

Heres hoping for some un-Scottish weather!

Ok heres a brief word about the weekend.

Set off on Saturday, turned off the motorway at Kinross services and the heavens opened. Properly opened. Parked the bikes up and stood under a tree. After bout half an hour, it wasnt getting any better so waterproofs on and head for the track. Visibility was shit, but at least I have a fairing and hand protectors, my mate was on his MT01!

When we turned off at Powmill to climb up the hill towards the cicuit, as we went uphill the weather went down hill, flash floods, deep water running across the road, the gate to the circuit had a good few inches of water running across it. Another wee river for us to ford!

We got to the campsite, it was like a bog, the bike park was a sea of mud, by this time I was more worried about trenchfoot than seeing any bloody racing. We managed to get the tent up on a raised but bumpy piece of ground. Better to let the matresses take the strain than drown we decided.

We got the tent up, got some hot food and cracked open the beers. We went for a wander, but that just got us wetter, we also found that the hairpin was under a foot of water. Anyway, we found one of the security huts at the gate and sat down to watch the rain fae it. Lovely. (joke)

A few beers later and it was time to face the tent. Then the rain decided to get serious. We stayed warm, dry and comfortable, but the noise of the rain put paid to a good nights sleep. I went for the "more beer means more sleep" approach, and did succeed in getting a bit better sleep.

We were up about seven on Sunday, had a hot breakfast, and went for a wander to buy hats.

When the action started to kick off about quarter to 9, the announcer cheerily told us that there had been a months worth of rain overnight. How we laughed.

Thats how our race weekend kicked off, I'm sure Rog an Jumkie can barely control thier jealousy reading it.

When Ive got time, I may tell more tales fae Sunny Scotland.

It was nuts Rog, my brother was meeting us on the Sunday, and he had to go a different road coz of a landslide caused by the rain!

But it always rains at Knockhill, I don't think I've ever seen a dry race there.

One rally I went to in Salisbury, I woke up with half my tent sub-merged, my feet were in 6 inches of water!

Another one on the Isle of Wight was so muddy, you could tell how long people had been there by the height of the mud up they're legs, Having arrived friday by Sunday I was plastered in it from head to foot!
