I mean fast as in capable of winning in Moto GP and we haven't had anyone for 4 decades, which brings me to another thought, Americans have had 2 or 3 riders in recent history who have been successful and now have only NH in any top class, where have they all gone?

Jonny rea is a top rider and did well on a totally different bike when he stood in on the repsol.

He waited to long on the ten Kate.

Put him on a tech 3 and he'd be up up there I reckon

Carl Fogarty would have won in GP's if he'd been given the opportunity, not saying he'd have been a champion because I think Doohan is the best rider since Kenny Roberts but if the likes of Carlos Checa, Simon Crafar and Regis Laconi could win GP races in the 90's I don't think Carl would have had much trouble winning a few either.

Carl was offered GP rides but never took one because the machinery on offer was not factory bikes. I think he maybe should have took what he was offered and then proved he was worth a factory ride. I do agree he had the talent and the mentality to succeed.

Shame he's just signed for Kwak for another 2 years , otherwise he might have been considered for one or two gp rides, still not absolute top drawer though.

I'm with Jumkie, I woke up trying to make sure I didn't dream that shit up. I cannot wait for Laguna now.
Hahaha, I hear you. I was gripping so hard last night. I was sure some diabolic disaster would strike a corner from the finish. Everyone was asleep in the house, I was still, paralyzed, knowing if I moved an inch the Universal Balance would be disturbed. When he crossed the finish I let out a big yell.

My evening had been looking bleak after an incident at a friends house. I was upset when I got home. I almost didn't stay up for the race. Race 1 had taken the air out of me. Nicky had a great practice sequence and qual. I allowed myself to believe a podium was in the works. As anybody knows, that can feel like a kick to the gut. Nicky was in 4th, then dropped like a brick. Mr. Shupe summarized it, disappointing. So I wasn't really that motivated to stay up. But once I heard it was raining, this little hope was born remembering Nicky had pace last time it was wet, but a poor pit decision messed up his result. Hope is a great and awful thing. But when it pays off what a feeling!

Consider I'm Nicky's undisputed world's heavyweight fan of the world. I make boy band groupie teenage girls look like they just got a positive pregnancy test after a Justin Bieber concert (if that's possible). I will shove young children out of my way for a mere glimpse and will give zero fucks. Let's face it, the drought between celebrations has been longer than an complimentary post by MigsAngel for an American.

Here something crazy. I rewatched the race and got nervous Nicky would crash or get caught by the Ducati. How nutz is that!?
