you need for the crf.
Talon hubs
exell rims
good sticky tyres, i used pirelli dragons or diablos
renthal fat bars
big brembo 320mm front disc, wavie looks cool
make sure you have a decent rear brake too
and if the funds allow big upsidedown wp or ohlins forks and wp or ohlins rear shock
and most important, a good pair of mx boots.

Will it cost that much? I guess it would if you were to go all out as in Rogs list below.
What would you get for the CRF?
If I was in this situation with 2 CRF's and with the intention of putting in 2 or 3 large into a project to convert one of the CRF's. I would sell one of the CRF's and add the 2 or 3 large and buy a factory ready, yep you guessed it second hand KTM690SMC or a Husaberg FS450/650(E road legal, C race bike). There are plenty of great second hand Berg's and KTM's out there

If you do go for it, what Rog said it spot on, but you might consider Supermoto boots which have a replaceable steel plate on the sole and heel for when your dragging it along the tarmac, you'd be going thru MX boots in no time

Whatever you decide, I can't wait for the pics

I've heard the problem is getting the electrical (headlights) set up$$$ and time. It can be done, it might be easier to hunt down a used crf450x. I don't mean to be a wet blanket, it's just that I'd love to have a cfr450 street legal, and looked into it$

Welcome back to two wheels.
