Just read on crash.net: http://www.crash.net/news_View~t~Final-sea...5~id~125625.htm Fogarty and Petronas will not renew their 5 year deal to stay in WSBK after this season. I never liked the petronas bike, it's ruined too many careers, but this news raises questions over Steve Martin's future. Could he be the last poor soul for the Petronas to claim before it finally gets locked away forever? Foggy says hell pursue other avenues for staying in world championship racing. Maybe he'll get bikes from a real manufacturer. You know, despite my contempt for outspoken old Carl and the swelling WSBK grid, I don't want to see him leave. I can't belive I'm saying this but I hope there's a future for Foggy Racing |

I think it's fair to say that the Petronas bikes were doomed from the start. On paper they never stacked up and this has been played out on the track. Yea it has ruined careers for sure but the one guy who did something with the bike was Corser. He said that because of the bikes sheer naffness (not his words, lol), it made him rider harder and better to compensate. Ultimately ending up with the WSB title again. With all due respect for Foggys riding abilities, TT, WSB etc. the guy is too much of a gobshte for any serious manufacturer to pick up as a team manager. He always cited that he should be in GP's riding a factory 500 (but was only given wildcards which of the three times he rode, he crashed them twice). Sure he matured as a rider but his his off-track personality did him in. I mean who says in an autobiograhy "I was better than Sheene" and seriously mean it. The guy's a child and always will be.... That's my rant over I'm sure this will court some controversy. PS. I am grateful to Foggy for what he bought to the sport in his career, 120k people at Brands etc. he put bike racing back on the map for the UK |

He has shown interest in running a MotoGP team. He'd be a good personality to have in the paddock, don't know who would give him bikes or money though. But could you imagine a Foggy Team with Max Biaggi as the rider? It would be the most spectacular team in history.

When you're running a junk like that you need to be smart and don't kill yourself trying to follow guys with REAL bikes, your aim should be beating your teammate.

That and the only thing I know about Jones is he took the ride from a former GP ace. Now, he was doing Mccoy a favor I guess, but where's Mccoy now? Anyway I've got the classic "Don't know, don't care" attitude about this guy. My main concern is Martin and McCoy (Where are you, buddy? <div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (richo @ Feb 26 2006, 02:04 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}><div class='quotemain'>That and the only thing I know about Jones is he took the ride from a former GP ace. See all you who don't have the union jack on your flag? Our riders are babysitting the monster so your riders can stay safe on bikes that work. |
