I wouldn,t disagree with that statement, but its a bit provocative. Having a dig at Honda when you,re not having a dig? Cheeky.

As someone commented on the kropotkin thing, he is cleverly making the dig less specific by including casey. Either that or he actually respects casey which surely couldn't be the case .

Talking

"Honda Would Be At Front With Me Or Casey On It"… Come on! With a Factory ride, Honda would be up forward even with Eduards!

Rossi stated his belief that the problem lay with the riders, rather than the bike.

However, Rossi was careful to point out that HRC's current riders could hardly be blamed for the situation. "Pedrosa, the lead rider, is injured; Dovizioso, with a little more experience, is a potential world champion. And on the track, he gives gas, believe me. But right now, he hasn't made the kilometers necessary to develop a bike."

If its not the current riders, is he saying it was Nicky's fault. If Pedro isnt to blame and Dovi isnt to blame, that only leaves one guy.

I'm not sure this is necessarily a dig at any rider in particular, just an observation that the bike is fundamentally capable. I think i agree that if Dani could put all the pieces together, or perhaps when Dovi has a little more experience HRC will be contenders again. But i don't think they are gonna win the 09 title.

I think he was (as is his wont) having a dig at honda, period, then thought he had better backtrack so as not to offend the riders. Nicky was arguably not doing too badly on the pneumatic honda compared to current performances.

Wow,
Imagine if Stoner had said that....
I'm kind of surprised and glad that Rossi gets a quote like that and not just Stoner every time.
I get his point though, and ofcourse it can't be easy for Honda with their rider situation right now.

Its been all down hill since Rossi left.

If only they had got Melandri into the factory team when he was hot.
