The 800's are nothing more than a souped up 600...bring back the 990

http://www.motogp.com/en/news/2009/De+Puni...ne+street+tyres

A week ahead of the MotoGP Official Test in Jerez, LCR Honda rider Randy de Puniet has already touched down in southern Spain. The Frenchman appeared on Wednesday at the Almeria circuit in a promotional capacity, endorsing Bridgestone’s new Battlax BT-003 road tyre.

De Puniet tested the tyre on a Honda CBR 600cc RR, joined by journalists from Spain, France, Portugal and the Netherlands, plus ex-MotoGP rider Jeremy McWilliams.

“It was a very interesting event. I spent a good time with the journalists and Bridgestone staff. It was my first time with a street bike on the circuit; of course it was not a MotoGP bike but pretty fast anyway. Honestly I was really surprised with the grip level of the BT-003,” said the Frenchman on the multi-layer compound based on Bridgestone’s MotoGP range.

“I think this Bridgestone product will satisfy the customers needs both in the field of performance and safety.”

That is the tire that is phasing out the 002. I have run the 002's for a couple of years now and they rock,i like them better than the powers i ran before.

I fail to see the connection, especially as the 800's of '07 arguably were downsized 990's with no more frame changes than what would occour for a new model.

On the advice of a friend I am switching from PP to Bridgstones this year. I just don't have any feel with the powers even though they haven't let me down. I want more feedback.
