Frankly, I'd like to see this match-up more. Maybe logistics might be easier since they ride under the same manufacturer, if either of them would agree to a head-to-head race. They could choose to race against each other either on a MotoGP bike or a Superbike. Who else would want to see this materialize?

Wait a minute, didnt they race last season? Come to think of it didn't Rossi race Bayliss in GP already?

Give Spies some time on a Super, he's looking good, and lets not forget, he's doing it on a 1000cc four, not a 1200. I think the guy has a very bright future, and once he's got the WSBK title, he'll move to GP, and be worth watching.

As I and others have said previously he is quite likely to end up racing rossi sooner rather than later in motogp with both on yamahas, where it is likely rossi would beat him unless he continues to ride long enough for their career graphs to intersect. One thing is that a split garage would not appear to be a problem for spies as he is eminently capable of setting a bike up on his own.

As for a match-up on superbikes, spies hasn't won the wsbk championship or rider of the year yet (and I do say yet), the latter achievement being reputedly what prompted rossi to wish to challenge bayliss. Similarly to the bayliss thing I don't think yamaha would let them race on superbikes; why deliberately risk damage to the reputation of a hot property?

I've not seen Spies really get in the mix yet, need to see how he copes with haga as the season continues, David tardozzi is ruling hagas style with a iron fist.
Once haga has free reign then will see.
If can deal with haga then maybe he would stand a chance against Rossi.

Spies is good, no question... but he's not Bayliss.
The whole match race thing came about because Bayliss was awarded Rider of theYear in 2008, ahead of Rossi. Rossi would probably have no interest to race Spies.
Bayless is one of the all time greats of SBK (possibly Bayliss is to SBK as what Roissi is to MGP), and I really believe that had timing been slightly better Bayliss could have had more success on MotoGP.
I actually wished Bayliss had stayed on MotoGP in 2007, with Stoner. They have a similar syyle, and Bayliss is a fighter, not scared to throw everything at a win. I think he could have been a challenger on a competative Ducati in 2007.

Edit
Sorry Michael... didn't read your post before typing.

You obviously missed Qatar race one when Ben and Haga traded spots a few times. What exactly do you want?

Also, you are saying that Haga is not allowed to push? Let me ask you. Has Haga's style won him a championship? In 2008 he was all over the place, I would argue that his style this year is what has him sitting in first with a ten point lead as compared to last year where he was ?? after the first four races. I hope that Haga loses his mind and starts making mistakes like in the past that will be good for Spies championship hopes.

Arse hole or not Foggy is still top in superbikes

Also, maybe some people haven't seen qatar yet so be careful discussing those races here
