<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (mylexicon @ Aug 28 2008, 06:18 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}><div class='quotemain'>Satellite MGP rides and WSBK rides are definite routes to failure.

Lexi you want to reconsider that statement?

Was Rossi's 2000 ride for Nastro Azzurro Honda a satellite team? Repsol Honda had Criville & Okada in 2000. Rossi beat both of them in the championship. that year.

Casey Stoner's 2006 Satellite Honda lead to not only a factory Ducati ride but a world title.

As far as WSBK, well Chris Vermeulen's 2nd in the 2005 WSBK championship is what earned him his seat on the factory Suzuki MotoGp machine.

Three recent examples of them not being routes to failure but stepping stones to better and bigger possibilities. If you have the talent.

It wasn't really satellite though was it when he had the best equipment, full HRC support, Jerry Burgess and the best team in the sport, and development input.

It is either a satellite team or a factory team.

Shinya Nakano is riding for a satellite team this year. He may have more of a factory bike than a satellite customer bike but he is still riding for Gresini not Repsol Honda? I get what your saying though Tom.

Same for Rossi in 2000.
Wouldn't have mattered what he was on, it was never a route to failure.

You are right, it was not a satellite team at all. The staff was all official HRC and the support was complete.

Can anyone confirm CVerm has signed.Denning wants him back but the decision is ultimatley up to the factory boss and they have been dragging their feet with the approval.I hope he is signed,he is as deserving as any other rider outside the top 5.

I definitely like and welcome the prospects of having a bigger grid overall. The grid just seems really small at the moment.

Read this morning in Gazzetta dello Sport, Italy's top sports newspaper that NicÚlÚ Canepa has signed with the Alice Ducati team for next year. The kid is only 20yrs old.

This is another Moto gp seat that has been assigned...

Spots are running out...
