the more i think about it the more blown away by rossis win at laguna i am caseys bike is faster which is why he was 1 second a lap faster during qualifying. kudos to stoner for being talented to ride shuch a monster and smash the lap record. then rossi useing pure race crafty and determination managed to pass defend and re pass to go on and win

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE <div class='quotemain'>If Valentino Rossi's victory at Laguna Seca made one thing clear, it is that Yamaha is in serious need of more horsepower. For despite Rossi's brilliant tactical race, his victory was in large part due to the tightness of the Laguna Seca track rendering outright speed less relevant. Down the front straight, Casey Stoner's Ducati was clearly faster and Rossi was forced to use every defensive trick in the book, including a few that expanded the definition of a tough move, to avoid being blown away by Stoner's blistering pace.

I think Ducati have Yamaha well covered, and since Rossi is so adept at "syching out" his oponents Ducati will be working on Casey's helmet for more ability to cope with the godlike skills of Rossi:

And I hear it will colect more electrons so the allready better "self drive" electronics of the Duc. will now be able to tell just what "dirty tricks" Rossi is up to in the next 300ms and counter for them ...... all Casey has to do it get on close his eyes ...... and it will all fall into place ........

Yamaha need to improve in the horsepower department and Ducati need to improve in the braking department.

Well at least Yamaha don't need to improve Rossi.. that would be very difficult

I agree with them not changing to much too soon as they have a healthy championship lead.

If Rossi can apply the pressure again who knows what might happen, but second is a great result for now

Time will tell, but both will have their work cut out to close up considerably.

well i found out a few weeks back somewhere..... that yamaha still have the option to go with DFI (direct fuel injection) if they need to, i think they are currently using efi....i dont think they will use this major change at the moment tho and risk rossi's championship lead so they will probably tweak the electronics instead for now... maybe they will use it next season...anyway by going DFI the M1 will use 10% less fuel which will allow them to up the horsepower and get closer to ducati's performance .

BTW... glad you had a good time in usa rog your a lucky guy being able to watch a race like that there at the circuit

I think it is quite likely they could match or better ducati's performance with a 10% improvement in fuel economy. They again seem to be ahead of honda technically.
