I'm gutted.

DORNA have beat the AMA to the new motorcycling revolution. The 600cc class will become the most entertaining, most-watched class in the world.

The bikes will be designed for performance, looks, and cost-efficiency. They will be accessible to racers and the general public alike (like sports cars in the 60s). I'm watching my fantasy unfold but it is happening on the wrong continent.

I can't imagine DORNA will govern the sport competently so their is still a ray of hope for the AMA.

I still think that it will be good racing but the most exciting yet remains to be seen. Plus fuck the ama and Rodger Edmosnson. The Gaytona superbike class as a 600 is stupid. Merely speaking from a marketing perspective cause NO ONE uses that faggish terminology. These asswipees are trying to reinvent the wheel.

Like I said, if DMG had never publicly announced the change to 600s before it never happened, they could have saved themselves a lot of heartache.

Edmonson is an idiot, but not because of his ideas for the sport. He's an idiot because he's cast out the Nazi's of AMA and made himself a villian in the process.

You may as well call him Stalin.

Yeah but I still think the liter bikes are the ones to be watching and not the 600's. But I totally agree with you about roger cause he is a real stupid ass and really has no clue. They need fresh blood in there and not his old ass trying to make something that is the motorcylce version of Nascar. A real shame. They should really copy WSBk and get in line with them. OR like the big 4 threatened to do which I would much rather have which is an American Superbike Series run without those at DMG or the AMA. Really when you think of it who needs em?

You have totally lost me,there has been a support 600 class for years in AMA,actually 2 of them.Unless you know something i dont know, these GP 600 bikes will either be like 600 SS or Formula Extreme or somewhere in between. What is it about this class that has you gooing your sheets at night. 600 racing has allways been some of the best racing weather it WSS or AMA SS.I wasnt against Daytona Superbikes,i was against Daytona Superbikes being the main attraction. It would be like the new GP 600's being the main attraction over Moto Gp.The new rules that Edmondson announced recently are not what they seem.He failed to mention that the 600's were still going to be the double header class which has caused more delay on the factory teams. They are not convinced it is worth the time or money to race once a weekend and have stock 600's and slow ass Moto ST bikes as the bikes that get the track time.

you are right about how the 600 class whatever the name is will be and should be good close racing. The fact that they are pushing the series into the 600cc premier class is just plain stupid. you would think they want to keep the crop of U.S. guys at the highest possible level.

The new GP class is going to be largely spec. Major components will be spec, and the technology will be available to a plethora of young upcoming riders (regardless of what market they're from). When riders/sponsors believe good rides are available, money and talent will come pouring into the class. Everyone's favorite rider, regardless of market, will have a machine capable of winning races or collecting podiums.

What could be better for ratings? Plus DORNA won't have to pick riders from key markets and put them on the best stuff to make sure they make the premier class.

Is that not exactly what we have now in AMA.A 600 spec bike,no internal mods,DOT tires,30-40 bikes in the field.Just about anyone can go SS racing if they want to.A stock 600 with a good tune and good setup can be had for under 10k.The rider makes the difference in SS racing since all the 600's are within 1000ths of each other rolling of the showroom floor.I will tell you one thing that excites me about 600 Gp bikes,it will put young riders on level playing field with the Europeans since they will have to cut their teeth on smilar equipment.
