<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE <div class='quotemain'>Marco Melandri was sitting in front of me in the Ducati Marlboro pitbox, his leathers tattered and muddied after his tenth-lap crash from a fighting seventh position in the German Grand Prix. It was a time to be delicate with a rider's sensibilities, but I said: "Will you finish the year with Ducati, or will you stop after Laguna Seca?" "Of course I hope to continue for the rest of the season!" he replied. "I felt really confident today." I saw this today and I just passed it along as being taken out of context. I think that he would have liked to have stayed at Ducati, of course. HOWEVER its not working out so they are parting ways. It still is very sad. Everytime I see him try and look happy, he just really isn't. I hope he comes back and does well just stay away from that Killasaki |

Is it possible he meant stay until the end of the season? Being said that they are to part ways after Laguna?

"Of course I hope to continue for the rest of the season!" he replied. "I felt really confident today." He's really going to have to pull something pretty spectacular to stay there. |

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (roger-m @ Jul 15 2008, 12:11 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}><div class='quotemain'>link i feel sorry for him, it must be humiliating for him walking about the paddock knowing everyone has got bets on when he's getting fired. Tell me about it. I thought that this would be his chance to finally show his talent and drive to win and contest the title. Big shame I wish him well. |
