I'd love to see Marco get on with the Ducati but it really isn't a promising start. Ducati probably aren't all that happy either, they give him the bike that won the title and he can't ride it, more than that he's given a list of things that, in his opinion, need changed. Sound familiar? The super supple and forgiving Gresini 990 was exremely flattering to Melandri, whilst the taut and fickle M1 and the inadequate Gresini 800 were most definately not. Marco's initial form on the all-conquering factory Ducati, especially on the B'stones he's so used to, says more of Stoner than Marco. If Honda don't bring it next year, Nicky should start waving his flag, he's got wins ahead of him on the right bike.

How many 250 titles did stoner win ? Thats right fuck all. He did not have his belovid TC and engine mapping to help him out.
How rude skidmark !!! have some respect.

Who cares how many 250 titles he didn't win! That is a totally irrelevant statement!

Talk about showing respect ... how about you practice what you preach! Give Casey some credit ... he rode what he had better than everybody else rode what they had ... actually make that better by a LONG way! Did Marco not have TC and engine mapping last year ... and the year before ... and the year before that?!

BTW, I like MM and the way he rides!

I kind of like Melandri's riding too ,it's an agressive style that Capirossi has.The thing that impresses me the most about Melandri though is his abillity to be fast eventhough he has broken bones and so on.Thinking of Laguna Seca this season for example.
As 250 result goes i don't know, and i don't think a whole lot of people know who really was the fast one because of the big difference in bikes in different teams. The clear difference and what every body was talking about was how factory Aprilia team bikes was faster than private Aprilia and definitly faster than any Honda on many tracks.
I'm not saying that Lorenzo isn't a very good rider,he sure seems to have the right mentality, and is ofcourse extremly talanted.
But what i am saying is ,it will be very interresting to see how Dovisioso will do in motogp.
He did really well i think considering what he rode in 2007.
Maybe it's the same deal with him as with Stoner.
If Dovisioso like it on the Honda he could be really fast, maybe the most successful rookie in 2008,who knows.

Macro was the only one winning on non factory Honda these past couple seasons so he deserves alot of credit just for that.

your only as good as your last race, and for people to harp on about 250 championship from 5 years ago makes me laugh.

there is a great commercial from gillete, where tiger woods, rodger federer say that they dont think about the past, what counts is today.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l4L3b...eature=related

i can imagine marco's commercial. "yesterday is everything. dont think about today i will never win today, what counts is half a decade ago" LOL

I Ride: Ducati 999
Autosport... Guintoli on how to ride the Ducati

Take a look. We are getting a little bit more insight into how things are going for other riders suiting themselves to the big Duke.

I hope that Melandri can summon some old 250 majic or else he will be down the pack..... say it aint so....

Obviously Guintoli was a 'lying dog' (I wonder which forum member said that?), we all know it's down to Casey being the bestest ever.

I'm quite happy to hear the Stoner rides a modified point and shoot. Anyone with any inkling of mechanical knowledge knows point and shoot is fastest on the traditional bike design (passive suspension while the bike is pitched on its side). I hope he continues to spoon feed Pedrosa humble pie until both of their careers are finished (but it does look like Pedro is modifying his style a bit).

Good for Casey. He is a riding genius. Now if he could just work on the issue of race management.

If the Duc is good for point and shoot why did Barros struggle? And why the hell didn't Hayden sign up for being the new Lawson?
