I thought this thread was about Dani not Rossi? Get a life.

We are attempting to!!

Hence why we read more into it than you did.

I'm guessing Johnny knocekmdown is practising what is known as "satire" or even "irony".

His post smacks of the denial of Haydens Win of 2006 ..... perhaps he is subtlely "rubbing the noses in" of those who said simillar about Nicky in 2006?? ... .. Of which I might add that I am not party too!! Hayden won fair and square by me ... as too did Dani..

So it may in fact be a dig at the Rossi fans ?? And a subtle backing of Dani.

Who was the guy who just "pipped' Rossi last year? Hayden ...... he got comments like Johnyknockdowns.

Who was the guy wo just "pipped" Rossi this year? Dani ......

or was your reply "satire" too??

Satire requires the notions being put forward to be so prolific as to be ludicrous ...... or a spoof of a previous situation maybe ....

Naturally next year it will be said about whoever takes say 4th or 5th from Rossi .... but by that stage the joke will be seen as being "done to death"

Yes guys it was just a joke.
After being such a hot debate last year I found it odd that noone
applied the same (il)logic to Dani getting second place. After all
the circumstances are similar. It seems that getting lucky only
applies to first place.
I think it's funny that some are so jaded to absurd posts that they
couldn't see it as sarcasm.

..... well the numbers show otherwise at present .....

World Motogp Championships:

Hayden = 1
Pedrosa = 0

But nonetheless I would take nothing away from either rider. Its just some of the fans interpretations of the facts that is ....... "creative"

And a well taken joke by many ..... but as with all jokes involving satire .... there will always be those who fail to see the precedent. Its the phsychological reason behind this that creates the "jaded" fan, so I doubt that they will ever "get it". If we are simply comparing Dani to Nicky with nobody else considered then you will find that Dani has scored more points in the time they have shared in motogp. Both on the same bike, in the same team, no excuses. And I'm a Hayden fan.

I don't think you can apply that to this year. Or even last year. The 800 was designed around Pedrosa, not Hayden. Last year Hayden had the clutch issues that Pedrosa did not have....If they were the same bike, they would have the same issues, no? I too am a Hayden fan, but more so a fan of racing. I really wish all the factory bikes were equal and we could honestly see who was the better rider of the factory riders.

Although i did overlook the difference in the bikes last year (thanks for the correction) i think that only stands to balance out the so called advantage that Dani has had this year. I am confident the opertunities have been equal.

As for the same bike having the same issues, i'll say no. The clutch issues Hayden suffered where a result of his riding style, and a smooth rider like Dani would almost certainly not have suffered (he even had the troubled clutch is his bike).
