If you look at Marco’s record in the last 3 years then Marco has binned it quite a few times!!!

Think we should get some real stats, Casey vs Marco crashes & reasons...........recall casey dropping once or twice last season which earnt him the endearing name of "Crashey" - granted he's put that to bed this year , full credit to him.

melandri loves crashing and so he can have excuses throughout the season. he will get comments like "wow he is riding so fast even though he is injured"

that goes for tony elias too.

C'mon man, do you really believe this? Dude, these guys go off because, like Stoner last year, are always looking for the threshold of performance (traction, acceleration, braking, etc). Once passed, it is unforgivable and painful. Please man, I usually enjoy how you get the Rossi fans all riled up with your digs (not that I agree with all of them) but the reactions that mirror your premises are sometimes comical). But you can't really expect us to think these guys crash on purpose for the extra sympathy? Shit man, don't you remember all the crashing Stoner did last year? He got it sorted; perhaps these other guys can do the same. Maybe. Anyway, carry on with the comic relief. I love it. Hey BTW, great vid too.

Melandri was pretty damn good on a 990. I'm pretty sure he can handle the 800 Duc without a lot of effort.

oops I meant to say something here ages ago but got distracted ...

I wasn't equating purely power as the "beast" aspect .... I was more thinking a beast as in .... hmmm ... finicky ... temperamental .... higly strung perhaps.

Not just raw grunt power or power delivery.... things like handling and braking even rider ergos can be temperamental.

Maybe Melandri ... being so smooth ( and on a smooth Honda ) might find that hard about a Duc. at first??

no melandri dont like crashing, but he does love people praising him for riding injured.

also gives him an "out" for not performing, he just say "oh i'm injured, so a midfield finish is a great acheivement"

I complain that Hayden got shafted this year because he's had to ride the joke that is the RC212V. A very close second is Melandri, who has been on downgraded Honda equipment every season since scoring second place in 2005.

Melandri has more wins than anyone on a Honda. Hayden has more world championships (real world championships) than anyone on a Honda. Who gets the good stuff? Pedrosa. Where the hell does HRC get off?

I'm glad Melandri is getting a real ride. He was furious in 2006 when Repsol hired Dani instead of him, and he's finally done something about it.

Will he beat Casey? Who knows. But being on a factory team will be like his first visit to the candy store. He deserves it too.

I hope Stoner, Melandri and Hayden finish 1,2,3 next year and Pedrosa is out of the top five. Fat chance, but nobody has achieved so little and demanded so much as Pedrosa.

Yes yes yes yes and oh yes! Did I miss any? The man nails it. We could be in for a real treat with Marco on the Ducati. Like it's already been said can he be consistent? But I needed reminding of how HRC shafted him so thanks Lex. Looks like I'm a Ducati fan next year. Why has Nicky remained so loyal to HRC?

Battered wife syndrome?

Anyhoo . . . has anyone seen anything that would confirm that Hayden had recently signed again with HRC? Wasn't he already under contract through 2008? Besides, he's spent a painful year adapting to the 800 and doing all the test riding in-between races, so he's likely adding up all his experiences from this season, hoping put it all to good use in 2008. Moving to a new team now would be going back to ground zero and starting all over again with a new bike and a new team. What with Honda inching it's way out of 250 in order to throw more resources at their Moto GP effort, one would reckon that Hayden may have hopes that increased attention and more bucks for Honda's Moto GP will translate into a more competitive bike for 2008. The size of the Honda paycheck has to ease the pain some too.
