Dare I say it.... The tyre lottery. It's starting to really grate on me tbh.

My opinion of the Michelins is not high either.

If we completely returned to the old days we could have several concurrent tire threads as was the case back in the tire war days when Valentino went after the Bridgestones.

I don't mind control tyres so much but when the consistency is so shithouse with riders blaming tyre problems for more races than not it takes away from the series IMO.

There were rumours flying around Michelin were favouring Fabio due to his nationality 2 weeks ago. Come to this weekend and he says he got a dud tyre, which was the cause of his result. I'm not saying that the tyre lottery is or isn't by design but its not a good look IMO when the guy everyone says is getting 'lucky' with the tyres due to his nationality then gets a dud tyre in the very next round to 'prove' that he isn't being favoured.

Perhaps so, but I tend to think the Michelins are randomly dud rather than that dud tires are assigned to individual riders. I think overall directions of tire development which donít suit particular bikes or riders certainly have occurred and do occur, my objection to the control tire is that there seem to be insufficient options to suit a wide variety of riding styles or bike characteristics.
p4p1, Havey and misfit like this.

Indeed. Itís not only about working hard to get into a competitive team and to get great results with the team, itís now hoping and praying that the next set of tyres will work like the last or that the 1 degree change in temperature will not completely change the feel of the bike and tyres.
