Could be interesting to see what Mir does here. He's never actually raced Moto2 or MotoGp at Silverstone. It'll be Dixon's first time on a premier class bike. And if Vinales is on the Aprilia - that's quite a few firsts this weekend. Silverstone is a good track for the Suzuki so won't be surprised if they do well here.

While I do not fully have an expectation of it, it does feel like it might be time for Marc to score another win.

I was thinking similar on this, and wouldn't be surprised if he pulled out a win. If the rain never dropped in Austria, I'm sure he would have won that race given how well he managed the soft tire until the bike change.

The thing that's going to be interesting to see for me anyway, is how he gets the RCV through Maggots/Becketts/Chapel because I'm expecting FQ to be blazing through there on the M1. If he carries a lot of corner speed coming out of Chapel, and gets good drive, he's going to be very tough to beat down the Hangar Straight into Stowe since that M1 is going to carry a shitload of speed through Stowe.

Either way, it should be a cracking race no matter who wins.

I would be surprised if those two weren't the main show at Silverstone. Fabs is in a great position. His confidence is well-earned and he'll want to beat Marc again to make it clear he's the new kid in town. OTOH - if things get too hairy towards the end, such as tires worn etc, he can afford to back off and let Marc take one, with little hazard to his championship standing. It should be a great weekend for him, as long as he avoids the hamburgers.

MM P1 FP1.

Suffered a big crash at Maggots but seems to be okay.

Going to be interesting to see if he can keep the pace up.

The honda is so unpredictable. Worse than the ducati was. I think the only reason he isn't back to form is that bike. It is trash. The tire rule sucks. They should allow the manufactures to request harder or softer carcass tires if needed. Keep the rubber to hard med soft but allow internal tweaks that suit the bikes best. Its a stupid rule.

It's been a huge reversal of handling characteristics. Marc is now doing for Honda, what Stoner was doing for Ducati. It is looking increasingly like Marky is at the end of his rope with the ill handling RC213V. Like Stoner after several season on the Duc, he's burning out. It has not happened as quickly as with Stoner, presumably because he is physically and mentally tougher, but the cracks are beginning to show. A rider can only suffer so many high speed crashes before the injuries take their toll. He would do himself a big favor if he left Honda and went with Ducati or Suzuki. He has nothing to prove with Honda.

IMHO - a better choice of tire would at best be a band-aid for HRC. They need to get their heads out of their collective asses and make some radical changes in the chassis. That's what Ducati finally did, and it paid off.

Michelin tires are a clusterfuck. They have had multiple seasons to get their act together. Bridgestones were so much better across the board, right from the get go. And Bridgestone were at a disadvantage compared to Michelin in that their manufacturing plant is in Japan, far away from any of the European rounds. Essentially, IIRC they designed and built all or most of the tires to be used at all the rounds, something like 6 months before the beginning of the season. Michelin OTH, seems to be making a few virtual SNS (available to all riders) practically on demand, and yet still can't get it right.

Toni Elias. Estoril. The captains rubber.

Where the fuck is jumkie when you need him?!

agreed about marc... i think him signing such a long term contract with honda was a gigantic mistake. It's not like anyone doubts marc is the best and should receive the highest pay
