Not sure how accurate but Iíve seen something saying that itís a compound fracture of the right arm. They showed the replay a few times and you could see his right arm flapping about, so I wouldnít be surprised.

Compound means open/through the skin. If it hasnít pierced the leathers it wonít be contaminated possibly allowing early primary closure, as was the case with Valentinoís compound leg fracture in 2010.

I doubt even he wins the title in a 13 race season with such an injury. Might be better in the long term than a shoulder injury, bones heal.

Crash is reporting that it is a broken humerus, nothing about it being compound

this report makes it sounds even worse...worse case it ends his career really....

He wont be racing next week....and he tries he will just put himself and other at risk....

Everyone's luck run out at sometime....taking this season easy would not be worse thing for him....or for his career.

Speedy recovery to him!

His best option might be to get ready for next season, treat each weekend as a test almost. If he scores 0 in 2 races he would think he would have to win just about every race remaining to have a shot at a title. Of course a lot can still happen, but it would have to almost be impossible even in the best case scenario of a quick return.

This is a horrible injury. Looks like there is high risk of complications. They are delaying the surgery to observe and assess the soft tissue damage. Reports that there is a risk of partial paralysis. My fingers are crossed the situation improves.

Just awful. He's got a gift no other rider has ever had, but its clearly also a curse. The ability to conjure up the miracles he performs, its always going to be a double edged sword. What he did on lap 6 was something so clearly special it is difficult to even describe. But these bikes, they are never going to be tamed.

Horrible crash today for Marky Mark, he has done incredibly well not to have really hurt himself on track up til now. Not good at all. Fabio is the real deal, nothing to prove, keep taking the fight to the front! Cal, why do you make it so hard to be a fan????? Rossi, it's time dude, if you had kept the head in 2015, you could have vowed out on a high. It's getting painful now.

Oh aye, hello again fae Scotland!

Just watched it, well deserved victory for Fabio. Overshadowed by the mother of all saves and almost comeback from 93. It was sublimely spectacular. Puzzled by the second crash, camera angle doesnít seem to give any hint.

He was already over the limit the corner before. Then attacked the left but took a line marginally too tight, touched the white line/kerb. Pure rider error.

I hope he recovers fully, competing again at this stage is secondary. The doctors seem extremely concerned in the post race interview they gave. A "strange and wierd fracture".
