Which opens a seat in MotoGP if proven true. Bot lo and behold, Washington Post is part of fake news industry. There is probably no reason to lie about sports, though?

LOL! Oh wait . . . you're serious? So Watergate and and the Nixon resignation were all fake news as well? All of Nixons Republican co-conspirators who went to prison for assisting in Nixon's illegal activities were just fake news too? Boy those judges and lawyers who sent them away were total suckers, what with them taking the word of Washington Post reporters. Sending all those poor innocent Republicans to prison. Tsk tsk.

BTW - Iannone's censure is prominently mentioned on Emmet's site too. A big fake news guy. Right?

It's on Autosport.com which definitely isn't into fake news. No reason to think it's fake either.

We'll have to see how this pans out with the second tests.

Is anyone really surprised? He goes under the knife regularly for aesthetic upgrades. If anyone were likely to take short cuts to get a body to match, its him.

However as a boxing fan, I am well aware of how little a failed test and suspension proves.

Hopefully it was an anomalous sample and we can all get back to watching him burn through Aprilias annual repair budget soon.

???
Are you talking about the possibility of a tainted supplement which has on rare occasion been proved or how every body thatís ever tested positive has denied it?

Both.

The entire testing process is a joke.

the washington post was bough in 2013 by bezos and is not the same entity that it was back in the 70s. things change over 50 years. if you dont think the washington post has been fake news the last 4 years there is nothing left to say.
as to iannone i think the rules are unfair as they dont even know what he took but if he did cheat he should be punished.

Within the initial statement released by the FIM, Iannoneís failed sample included a non-specified substance under Section 1.1.a Exogenous Anabolic Androgenic Steroids (AAS) of the 2019 Prohibited List.

what is a non specified substance. could that be if someone took an over the counter cold medicine that had ephedra in it? you could be ending a guys career lets have some specifics.

A non specified substance indicates the prescence of metabolites, trace level or otherwise, associated with the administration of a controlled substance. They don't need to have identified that actual substance to know that whatever it is that was taken was controlled.

However what is key is the level at which those metabolites are detected. There has been much discussion within the medical community regarding where the threshold should be set.

Recent advances in testing protocols mean that the detection sensitivity is so high that the presence of those metabolites does not immediately indicate nefarious intent. Hence the current state of affairs with regard to suspensions, bans, A and B samples, and why it seems these things get drawn out for so long, resulting in the reputational damage of athletes who are suspended, and subsequently absolved of responsibility.

By that point the competitor's name has been sullied forever regardless of their guilt, or lack there of.

As I said, it's a shit show. But this is Iannone we are talking about so I'm going to judge him regardless, despite all the signalling of virtue in the paragraphs I just wrote...

... but I'd assume that they would have a threshold for repeat testing vs suspension pending review/further testing?
