Zarco to Pramac Ducati for 2020

Zarco is to be placed in the Pramac Ducati team in place of Jack Miller for 2020.

I was a little taken aback by the title, I am under no illusions Jack is ever going to challenge MM for a world title, but thought it unusual for him to be dumped after his performance in practice and qualifying this week-end. Instead Ducati are reputedly applying their characteristic ruthlessness to Petrucci, who admittedly hadnít done much since his race win and has been fairly underwhelming in the latter half of this season. I guess signing Zarco to Pramac means they can replace Jack or Dovi if he decides to retire with whoever performs best out of Zarco and Bagnaia. I would be somewhat hopeful about Zarco on a Ducati, Lorenzo eventually got to grips with that bike and he hasnít looked bad on the difficult HRC bike. I doubt KTM are ever going anywhere with their current chassis, like Ducati before them they will never be able to procure tires which suit an unconventional chassis under the control tire rule.

I Ride: Triiumph Tiger XCx 800 + KTM SXF450sm + 511SMR
Again - more click-bait bullshit. Zarco is in fact scheduled to test ride three different bikes this weekend, and then, afterwards, negotiations begin.

Maybe next time you watch a race, try turning on the sound?

The commentators are not unknown for dealing in unsubstantiated rumours as well. Jorge back to Ducati earlier this year came to nothing.

A tweet by a French journalist is perhaps not the strongest evidence.

Not quoting a French journalist. British commentators in my experience - will specify when something is merely a hot rumor. I can't somehow imagine they would say so authoritatively that Zarco had three tests lined up. That is after all a whopping big statement which if untrue would be really hard to live down. When everybody was jumping out of their skin to pronounce AM as his brother's new teammate, these guys were quite cautious, saying it was a rumor in the paddock. Turns out HRC were looking at AM as a potential rider a few years down the line . . . you know, like when he has as much experience as Zarco.

I am something of a Zarco fan, certainly more than I am an AM fan, but that I am going to wait and see on this one was really my only point. I think the Jorge back to Ducati rumours were fairly strong and mentioned by the commentators at one stage as well; Jack Miller actually referenced those rumours which had him out of a job mid season in his interview post the Valencia race on Crash where he said no-one had discussed anything with him and that he was very happy at Pramac. He didn’t of course say he would knock back a factory Ducati ride though.

I did hear the commentators say that he had 3 tests lined up, however I thought they were being a bit sarcastic

in all honesty, I do not think Zarco deserves a MotoGP ride... his attitude, and some of the comments he has made far exceed his results. to quote Top Gun, his ego is writing checks his body can't cash... the way hey left KTM, turning down a possible Avintia ride when he had nothing else, assuming the VDS ride would be his...
Ingjr, Furiosa and misfit like this.
