And you chose the race that ended the career of a true American hero. You need help!

The sound and smell of them was reason enough to go to the races...
Seeing Rainey screaming the YZR around Donington was a thing of beauty and brutality as he somehow kept it smooth, despite the bike spinning, sliding and wheelying. How he did what he did on cold tyres, to break the field in the first two laps Iíll never know or forget seeing.

Leave us not resort to personal attacks. Last thing we need is more fake, politically correct, hand-wringing drama over something that happened decades ago. It was a sad day, but it's no Auschwitz. Listen to Rainey in interviews. He's over it and accepted it. If he can - so should you. It was a great race other than that and besides it's the only Misano race of that era available for free on Youtube. The actual crash isn't shown because they were not in range of the cameras. I don't do crash porn. If you don't want to watch it - don't watch it.

Keshav,

you don't understand the new world. Here is lesson one:
You approach a perfectly happy person and start telling him how his rights have been violated and how unfairly he has been treated. You don't stop until this person turns unhappy and starts believing that everything in his life has gone wrong is someone else's fault. Once you see this individual is now sour and full of hate your mission is finished. You can start looking for your next victim. Err, I wanted to say next person you are going to save.

Amen to that (I am so sick of that).

What to do? Not casting aspersions on Yamfan. It's just that internet forums do seem to have become a magnet for people who either didn't get enough attention as a child, who go online to create needless drama, or people filled with rage who can't or won't spend a few bucks for therapy, and instead use public forums as a convenient, free group therapy session where they can safely dump on people so they won't go postal and kill everybody at work. The whole climate of narcissistic outrage over minor differences of perception has become really tiresome. Everybody gets to have their 15 Megs of fame.

We live in a world where everyone has a reason to be offended about something. I'd hazard that this is the paradox of those of us living in the developed world. We are surrounded by comfort and convenience but as a species we evolved to struggle just to exist. Remove that struggle and we start seeking reasons to be unhappy. Is it any wonder everyone is so fucking depressed these days? Perhaps a few of us need to find ourselves a real problem instead of feigning outrage at the smallest of things.

Back on topic. My predicted top 3 is as follows;

1. Rins
2. Rossi
3. Quatararo

Marc to lose the front end pushing to keep up with the corner speed bikes. DNF.
