Mike Leitner and Herve Poncheral have both confirmed the Miguel was given first refusal for the ride and it's claimed he wished to stay with Tech 3 and Guy Coulon.

It seems hes a bit salty because he didn't think a rookie would be given the ride as he expected the experienced Kallio to take the seat.

If anything I think issues like this should be dealt with internally. It serves no one involved to have this discussion out in the public through the press.

It serves no one... other than loyal fans who crave transparency...

On the Honda, the Frenchman said: "It's not easy to explain. But there is incredible potential, Marc also shows this potential. I try to learn from it, it's easy. It was not a bad day for me, even though the qualifying was not driven.

Seems like Zarco is willing to open his mind to explore the RCV potential.

Not bad for his first ride on a foreign bike given the limited clear dry track time this weekend. Stoked for him, can't wait for Sepang. Would have loved for him to put it over Pol, even by a 10th.

Clearly not a one trick pony, only fast on the user friendly Yamaha.

He was ahead of Pol for some laps.

Was Zarco fast enough on the RCV to convince Honda to axe Lorenzo? I dont think so, but he did demonstrate that he deserves to still be in the sport. does he settle for a testing role with Yamaha, or does he drop to Moto2.

I thought he did a pretty good job given he had never even ridden the RCV before and that the weekends weather didn't really do him any favours in getting up to speed quickly.

The next two rounds should give a better indication.

You are rushing to judgement! Considering the weather condition he did good to be in the points. He has two more opportunity to make a statement. After Valencia judgement should be made.

Pol on the KTM is no slouch and would have had a lot of pride helping to push him to finish ahead of Zarco, on the KTM very much developed around Pol.

Pol finished a 10th of a second ahead of Zarco, nothing in it. Zarco was riding a year old RCV for the very first time. I won't use the Lorenzo comparison because it not a fair measure given Lorenzo's performance slump but Zarco put in a solid ride, not crashing it all weekend (i think), shows he may have more in the tank. And after riding the KTM for a good part of a season the tricky Honda probably feels like a Yamaha with training wheels lol.

EDIT:
The KTM 'project' may be the perfect training ground for Honda to poach riders to adapt quickly on the 'difficult' Marcentric RCV.
