I am not so sure they are planning on keeping Dovi, there has been talk that they are looking at Maverick and Miller for 2021. I also think they might make an offer for Marc Marquez, though it probably won't happen. Alex Marquez has been linked to a Pramac ride... I believe Bagnaia will get a factory bike next year (as the Pramac team are expected to have 2) and will be very interesting to see what he does on it.

Zarco will probably have offers from almost every manufacture (except KTM). the only thing that might hurt him is if he winds up on a Moto2 team that is not as competitive and struggles in that class.

as for Lorenzo, if he suddenly found himself with out a ride I do think Ducati would have some sort of offer with the help of a customer team.

I Ride: R6
Zarco seems to have found a good psychologist, because suddenly he's right back in the top 10.

Or maybe it's because he's riding a bike that actually works?

I'd sure love to see Zarco land SOMEWHERE in MotoGP next year. It would be such a waste to see a rider with so much potential lose a year in his prime.

Could Honda put a 5th bike on the grid for 2020?

While true they did it before with Dovi on the 5th bike, I expect it'd be more economical to buy Lorenzo out of his contract. There must be some provision or clause regarding minimum levels of performance that they could employ.

they are already several months into their 2020 budget, and the first test is 10 days away. I think its to late for the factory todo anything. It might be possible for an independent customer team to form and use a year old bike.

Absolutely not "calling you" on this. Just genuinely curious what your source is for this info.
Peace,
K

I heard it mentioned a few times last season when teams were sorting themselves out for this year, that most teams begin their fiscal year around late summer. makes sense since the season used to end around then.

Psychologically, he could only go up. The 2018 Honda spec is likely more to his liking than the KTM.

Didn't work so well the last couple weekends. The KTMs were on top of him and his glorious Honda.
