Straw man. He is their lead rider, they chose him over Lorenzo, and have chosen him to be the lead rider over Vinales. At his peak he was obviously better than Vinales and better than Lorenzo as well for that matter, but he is 39 now, something you, he and Yamaha among others cannot seem to come to terms with.

He was easily better than Vinales today btw, he could have settled for 2nd which would have relagated Vinales to 5th, it was an unfortunate end to a brilliant mistake free ride up till then, and a surprising end for me, I was expecting MM rather than him to drop his bike as I said on the race thread.

It will be interesting to see if Yam. "hobble" Vinales at Valencia. Hes only 3 points behind rossi now ans seemes to have the momentum to get 3rd in the championship.

Nah, you don't understand. Mr. Rossi is ambassador to the sport. At the moment he is helping Honda and Ducati to sell their bikes. And Suzuki.
