I donít think it was the linkage, the actual feel of the gearbox is different. He says so in the article posted below.

Honda bike was built for Marquez before he even came onboard with the Honda MotoGP team, the tires were made to work best for the Honda rider at 130 lbs (that's Marquez just in case you didn't know his weight), not for Danni (112 lbs) who can't get heat into the tire. Dream on with this rubbish about blocking ... so why did Zarco NOT go to Honda? Think about it.

And today, we witness Marquez the village idiot do yet another stupid move that could have ended Zarco's life ... Marquez knew Zarco was right next to him as came along side ... then Marquez moves over in front of Zarco and hits the brakes!! What? Where exactly did Marquez think Zarco would go? Just magically disappear?

Oh wow you are back !!! Ive missed you incredible "racing expertice" ..... now to fill you in with whats been happening since you were last here .....

Oh yeah! ..... Marquez won the championship .... again.

Wow .... wonder how different rossis "gearbox throw" was this week then? Or indeed how Vinales managed .... with the rossi tweaked ..... "gearbox throw".

Doesn't make sense. Gearbox feels different? You only have one way to shift. The linkage. Everything else is internal gearing, anyone can get used to new ratios.

I'm not a GP rider, but first things I do when getting a new bike are set the levers to my preference, and adjust the brake and shift levers to suit my boots and position. I think, that Alvaro just fucked up a little and missed a gear. Nothing more to it. If the shifter wasn't located ideally that comes down to bike set up.

My main take is that Bautista is a lot better than people including me have given him credit for being. Makes you wonder how many other also-rans would look much better on a factory bike, Casey Stoner previously having been a case in point. If he had never more or less fluked what was intended to be a 1 year place keeping factory Ducati ride he might have continued his whole career as a back marker crasher.

Obviously didn't read the article where Zarco accepted the blame. BTW where are the wing mirrors that will show who is behind?
There were 3 bikes fighting for the same piece of turf, at 200mph the tow you get from a bike is incredible its worth another 10mph, so please read whats been said instead of bad mouthing over a racing incident.

As someone favourably disposed towards both involved riders I really didn’t understand live what had happened as I said on the race thread, but even then thought surely the contact wasn’t at a point where anyone would be trying a pass or could be expected to anticipate a passing attempt. Perhaps the Jerez 2005 last corner “pass” is Robains' standard for legitimate overtaking moves.

Iíve always been a Bautista fan and I am glad he got a chance to prove himself before he leaves.

He should be a hoot to watch in WSBK.

It's gonna be interesting to see a middle-high level motoGP rider against a top-level SBK rider on the exact same bike.

Even tho that's the only good thing about him leaving motoGP :/
