I Ride: 2016 Honda Blade Repsol SP
The ticket does not say refund, it says compensation. That is the twist here. They can "compensate" you a plate of chips and call it a day.

I Ride: pillion with hubs on 1200 Bandit :) Do have a full bike licence though
the back of my Village B ticket says "01. ..no refunds /exchanges unless event is cancelled ".

we are going to get a part refund apparently, email came today from Silverstone..

I paid 210 pounds for village B Sunday seat for me and hubby ,( roaming seats Fri and Saturday ) and £35 to park the car being refunded £207.50....

Given they will still have to pay all their employees for a whole week-end, and that I strongly doubt Uncle Carmelo will waive his sanctioning fee, I can’t imagine it will do much for their finances, although I guess the refund does indicate some expectation that they will continue.

I will confess to no knowledge about insurance against rain in England, but would surmise it is not without difficulty either.

Its expensive insuring against the weather, having been involved with outside events and its consequences. Plus of course the insurance co's go over the wording with a fine tooth comb to avoid paying out.
