If MM would end up on the Duc, then I'd hope not. I'd love to see him doing precisely what JPS illustrated.

And yes, I think he'd win on a Ducati.

I don't doubt it. If anyone (we currently know of) is going to replicate Stoner's accomplishments on the Duc, it'll be MM.

Oh he's right! Quote below from hack oxley interview with Santi Hernández

Quote:
Tell us about Marc’s use of the rear brake…

Marc uses the rear brake all the time, especially in corner entry because he likes to slide the 'bike to prepare his entry, which came from Moto2. Now we understand how to help with this, with 'bike set-up and especially with engine-braking settings.
And for those, cough.....synn. Who says Marc don't know how to setup & develop a bike. Read the rest of Hacks interview > https://www.motorsportmagazine.com/o...m-rquez-faster

The Preziosi bike Stoner rode was much, much more complicated to ride than this Dall'Igna bike (and Lorenzo and Dovi have said that too).

Dovi barely lost the title last year.

Agree. There's never going to be a perfect apples-to-apples comparison. The 2007 bike was dreadful, and the first interation of the 800cc chassis (tho the motor was a beast) was even more problematic.

MM on Ducati cannot happen before 2021. Too bad, got to find something else to talk about for another two years...

The Ducati is a good bike now. Petrucci almost won a few times, Dovi has had lots of wins, Lorenzo has won twice and Miller has taken podiums.

I don't think Petrucci, Dovi and Miller would be so competitive on a Yamaha or Honda.

Miller has been on a Honda recently so we know that he likes the Ducati better; Dovi has ridden all those bikes with good results in the circumstances, and even if it was years ago I think he could still be competitive on all. Petrucci... yes, he should probably stick to Ducati. Or perhaps KTM in 2020-21.

100% true and that's why I'll never get tired of saying that Stoner was the rawest talent this sport has ever seen.

But a bike can not fully lose its DNA. Ducati is still the most complicated choice among the top bikes, especially for someone that is used to any Japanese machine.

Rabat, Dovi and Miller are all much faster on the Ducati than they were on any other bike...
