I realise that it's almost entirely subjective but who would you put your money on?
Marquez but on his day Stoner. Or maybe Stoner but on his day Marc.

Ha ha, nice one mate, that was genuinely funny. I dare not say in case I show my bias (Austin).

Only Joking.
How about Monza?

Monza = Lorenzo

then, to make everybody happy:

P.I. = Stoner

Assen = Rossi

Austin = Marquez

All those speculations are idle, as there will never be any proof.

Sports have to be based on the simple fact that who wins, wins. No asterisks attached. Of course you are fully entitled to base your personal judgments on whatever standards you like, but at least apply them equally to everybody: otherwise it's called a double standard...

With all due respect Jarno, I gave a reasonably balanced statement based on the facts the way I see them. I have no problem giving credit to Valentino or any other rider when due. Just because I post on here doesnít have to mean Iím a hater. Iíve always thought you were a more honest and less biased Rossi fan matey, but your statement borders on rabid minion speak.
By the way, if youíve never heard it said Lorenzo wouldnít have taken the 2010 title but for Rossiís shoulder injury or broken leg, where have you been since then, the moon?
Itís been bleated by virtually every Rossi diehard on just about every site, including this one.

There's way too many variables when comparing the greats of motorsport, I've never really believed any of the "Greatest Of All Time" stuff for that reason. Modern day grand prix calendar has more races on it so it gives modern riders more of a chance to shoot up the win and podium columns, modern bikes are more reliable, tyre technology has improved, track surface has improved, you've got GPS guided anti-spin systems and launch control, fucking hell up until the 1980's launch control was the riders legs as he pushed the damn thing.

The best thing you can do is be the best of your era, if you come out of your time in the Grand Prix circus with more wins and championships than anybody else you've had a good'un!

You are right, I might have projected things on you that were not really yours. Bear with me, this forum is not easy for those who want to be fair, especially to a certain Valentino Rossi.

Thanks buddy, good of you to say so.
For the record, I agree with Ant. All the goat stuff is a total crock, things change so fast in MotoGP itís impossible to give a reasonable and irrefutable argument for ďgoatdomĒ.
For me every one of the riders has achieved a level most can only dream of. They all deserve the utmost respect and anyone mocking/bad mouthing them is an asshole.
