Then you can at least give props to him for 'manipulating/creating' a situation where he lands a ride on a championship winning bike without even having won a race for his current employer. It can't all have been down to luck can it?

Another way to look at it would be that HRC figure Lorenzo will flail about on the Repsol bike making him less of a threat than he would be on the Yamaha. A bargain!

How did he go rouge? You mean the great “mapping 8” race?

Doubtful anything he's done at Ducati will be applicable at HRC, who are extremely prideful about doing everything in a proprietary fashion, as much as possible.

This is not unusual for MotoGP riders and doesn't reflect their "performance", it just reflects their style and ability to adapt.

The Honda is probably a better bike for Lorenzo physique but Lorenzo will need to understand that Honda have been working on a Marquez bike long before Marquez even made it to MotoGP. Out of the box, it's not going to be a bike Lorenzo likes to ride, the real question is how much are Honda willing to change to make it that "perfect" bike Lorenzo needs to win? I can't see that happening as long as Marquez remains with Honda.

Petrucci to Ducati will be interesting to watch ... Honda have the overall best package, but on the tracks with long straights they're pretty much owned by Ducati. But still puzzled at why Zarco didn't take the Honda ride and went to KTM? Maybe he knows something about KTM's cash flow or maybe he didn't want to adapt to a Marquez bike and could build a KTM to his liking?
Petrucci to Ducati will be the same as we see now. He will go from being on a current top Ducati to a current top Ducati.

Millar at least would have surely improved. He is going year old Ducati to current top.

I think HRC were in the strong position, Lorenzo's previous track record was his bargaining chip. His stock was down, Honda are the winners here, Lorenzo gets to bask in Honda's shrewd coup.

I'm ok with all of it. I see it as fallout from the 2015 debacle. I also think Lorenzo will do better on RCV than people think. And if he is able to make it more rideable, this benefits Marquez. I'll also add, Marc won't have the luxury of DNFing several times and still winning the title. Then again, as I said in a previous post, if Jlo manages to help make Honda more user-friendly, maybe Marc won't have to ride it like a bat out of hell.

That's the best part of all of this. If Lorenzo gets on his game with the Honda, Marc will have to get serious. When Lorenzo is on his game he isn't easily beaten. I remember Marc following him until the end and pouncng in a last minute desparate attempt (much like me trying to spell every word right), at Indy I think; it was his only hope at beating him.

I don't think Lorenzo can do it but it'll be great watching it all play out.

Jorge will struggle on the Honda. He may win a race or two per year, on a favourite track or if MM falls, Marc will continue to win 6-10.

He will be Pedrobot 2.0

Whooo hooo big fucking news.
