You may have only met one in Australia but you've had conversations with more than a few on this site. Mexicans love motogp and have been some of the best members here. I think I miss Calikid more than any other member. And unfortunately these terms also offend him just by being used.
I was talking about Barry’s attitude, not mine, he lives outside big city Australia, I live in Sydney, and have been to the USA probably 25 times, on most occasions spending time in LA where a friend has family, and have a hopefully somewhat nuanced view, and am, also hopefully, not in the habit of belittling Mexicans or what they have to deal with in the USA.

I was aware, I guess I didn't specify that what I understood was why barry didn't get it. But I know you do. Its touchy situation in america to understand why Latinos are coming here but yet still have concerns. I am lucky enough to have a friend I can ask the touchy question to. He knows I just seek the opinion of why Latinos do what they do, so I can have a better understanding. And I am grateful for that.

Didn't know about Hauer's soliloquy. Very cool. Amazing how many bad films and TV shows have been made trying, (and failing) to copy the art direction and ambience of that film.
Exactly. One of my best friends is Sri Lankan.

But the reason I have the opinion about what he said was just summed up very well by JK, the word curry is still acceptable. So coming up with a term using it to offend you isn't actually racist. Offensive for sure. But not the same as monkey, beaner, or dot head. Those are terrible terms and I would not be okay with him using them against you or anyone else. Your reaction to the term curryfat can set the direction of the meaning. Blow it off and its just dust in the wind.
It's not "the word" per se. It's all about context. The word Mexican and the word monkey are not by themselves racially offensive. The word curry is frequently used by adding it on to another phrase and when applied with unmistakable derision we're talking race baiting. It's not that subtle. It's like when certain Southerners pointedly use the expression "New York politics" as code for "Jewish politics".

In the event - I'm all done with that. I rarely hold grudges. Anytime Synn (I know yer listening) wants to start afresh, I'm here.

Yes Mexican Monkey is racially offensive you mental midget. Just because separately they aren't doesn't make what you said any less offensive. Keep trying to minimize Christian.

Dave, I know I've made some very poor decisions recently,
but I can give you my complete assurance that my work will be back to normal.
I've still got the greatest enthusiasm and confidence in the mission. And I want to help you.

This is all dying down. You're just revisiting things that have been discussed ad nauseum. Why are you so invested in dragging this out? What do you hope to accomplish? What good can come of it? Do you enjoy being so angry? It should be clear that I'm trying not to engage, avoiding insults and threats that only act to further inflame. Every right minded person is by now tired of this topic. It's been done to death and I hate having to repeat myself. I don't have time for it. I'm getting ready to enjoy the race at Catalunya and packing my bags for Assen.
