I Ride: pillion with hubs on 1200 Bandit :) Do have a full bike licence though
My Jorge

doing my head in, is he staying at Ducati? Is he leaving? where will he go? Suzuki? Back to Yamaha? I cant believe that There is not a plan here. My gut feeling tells me Jorge wants to stay and make it work at Ducati for a much lower fee. I want him to go back , cap in hand like VR did to Yamaha ,and what he knows.i find it depressing. He is such a lovely young man, don't want him leaving MOTOGP altogether.

Yamaha is out till 2021 and who knows what the landscape will be by that point. Suzuki is the logical choice unless he wants to beat his head into the ground for another couple of years.

I think the rumored possibility of a de-facto 3rd factory bike operated under Marc VDS is the most likely destination for Jorge. I'd like to see him on a Suzuki but I don't think Suzuki has the budget to afford him, nor it seems like a very Suzuki-like move

Let's examine this by first stating the obvious and see if we can extrapolate the likely outcome.

1. He has drawn negative attention by Ducati on himself from awful performances, causing crashes, and worse, hostility towards his employer via insubordination (every team in the paddock understand he would could become a disgruntled employee).

2. His stock worth has tumbled into the gutter. If Dovi got 7M, Lorenzo is worth 1-2M to Ducati. Possibly less to Suzuki.

3. Places he is not going: Yamaha, Honda, KTM, Aprilia, or any satellites.

4. Who can afford him at the discounted rate: Factory Ducati.

Analysis: Lorenzo has two available options, Ducati and Suzuki. Ducati has started the negotiations quite publicly by saying they are considering Miller and Petrucci, this is a tactic to indicate what Ducati is willing to offer Lorenzo peanuts. The message, we already broke the bank, you're a bust, we broke the emergency piggybank to sign Dovi, but we found some lose change under the couch, here's looking at you Jorge. Both Ducati and Suzuki have a strong hand in the negotiation, Lorenzo's is weak and has increasingly got worse. Suzuki have never paid high dollar, but they hold one important ace, their bike is a shade of blue. Suzuki have a bike that in theory suits Lorenzo more than Ducati. Lorenzo should understand one important fact, regardless where he goes his paycheck will about the same with Ducati or Suzuki, that being significantly discounted; Ducati because they claim don't have any money left, Suzuki because they are the "99" cent store of GP.

Options: Ducati or Suzuki
Compensation: shit either or
Suitability: advantage Suzuki
Ego: advantage Ducati

I've heard rumors of a third factory Yamaha being vacated for him.

If Suzuki sign him, I think they will increase their commitment when they see that JL is a true title threat.

I find it incredible that everyone is writing this guy off. He has five world titles, and has the fifth highest tally of race wins in history and is still young.

Donít disagree with much you said, with the exception of causing crashes and the insubordination thing, and every paddock knowing that he is a disgruntled employee and stock has tumbled, and well.. okay.. you got what folks can afford and willing to pay correct.

Lot more talent options now than when Rossi tried his Duck Experiment. Now that George failed on the Duck experiment, he is going to pay for it. He is still one of the best top 4 or maybe top 8 riders out there, but he rolled the dice to get the big bucks, and he missed. Now he is going to have to live with it.

I think he is out of the Duck seat next year. That leaves with the Suz or the Apillia ...

It is a strange fucking world....

I think Yamaha will most likely set up another satellite team with at least one rider like
LCR and if they get Jorge I’m sure he would get a full factory spec bike. Now that Zarco is out of the pic that’s the move I would go for. I dunno.......
