Andy was a regular contributor who was hit by a 4x4 whilst out for a ride and had to undergo multiple major surgeries and dealt with a lot of personal problems at the same time.

Probably not the best person to joke about.

As an aside, does anyone know what happened with Andy roo? Or maintains contact?
I miss him. I sent him a snail mail letter a few years ago when he was still in the hospital fighting to retain what was left of his leg. I'll see if I can find his address again. Great guy.

Well fuck, I had no idea.
I hope he's fine now.

Agree, I was thinking of Rising Sun the other day and his Top 10 Reasons. I used to look forward to it as much as I did the racing.

There was a thread dedicated to trying to find Andy.

There used to be a great community of people here Synn. Even when we had flame wars they were not of a personal nature with actual and real relationships on the line. I've been here almost from the beginning, anybody can go back and read what it was like here, meet-up threads, b-day threads, shooting the shit threads, there used to be a great thread called, Powerslide Award thread, the Powies; honestly good friendships, Andy Roo was a good guy just like many of us here that shared his struggles and triumphs. We had made plans for him to visit SoCal, but life can be a wonderful or a mothafucking thing. He isn't the only one, others have made public some of their challenges whilst others have not but done so privately because real friendships have been made here.

When I said to you, hey you never know who you might eventually become friends with someday from the forum, I was talking from actual experience. I was the best man at Roger's wedding, a man who has become something of a legend around here. Every single person I've ever met up with at an event (and that's a lot of people) are for the most still corresponding with me on a personal level. (Clarifications, everyone except one person.)

Whenever you're bored and have some extra time, read the meet-up threads. There is some good stuff there. Just a small word of advice if I may, if you ever do meet these people, be gracious. Don’t let your rider or political allegiances get in the way. That’s what the forum is for, for us to blowhard about bullshit. At the track all the riders get their respect. It’s funny but you and I are polar opposites regarding Rossi and Stoner, two riders that have been quite polarizing amongst GP fans. You’d never know it but some of my best friends are just as dumb as you on this topic, ha!

Well, you’re definitely not American.

Speaking of pints, how jacked up is Pedro's legacy when they're talking about keeping him on a team because he is just good enough to be not good enough? Poor little guy.

If I were Pit Beirer, I would lock Pedro up instantly and place him in Tech 3 (And shove more Red Bull Euros down Herve’s throat so that he doesn’t cry about being a “young riders” Team again).

Pedro could help develop the RC16 better than anyone else they can sign at this point.
