I had heard to Jerry was a little behind on the electronics side of things, which was increasingly becoming an issue, but I can't now recall where I heard that so it could quite possibly be balls

If Rossi wanted to keep going, he had to change. Jerry thought he should retire, and was fairly openly saying so.

Jerry may have been correct of course.

And in answer to Barry's original post, history will remember Rossi very kindly, if not as quite so utterly golden as would have been the case if he had retired at the end of 2009. I don't think the last 9 years have done anything to enhance his reputation, and he possibly won't be remembered as clearly superior to other greats of the sport as would have been the case then, or as being totally ice cool and imperturbable.

Limiting the testing doesn't do anything except make the bikes worse. It's a bullshit fake limitation thrown in there, probably by Honda, to fuck with other companies so they can't compete. I hate it. Same with spec tires. Fuck that. Let em run whatever they want.

Let's see who wins if we fuck with the tires. Bullshit. It's not a better show, it's bullshit.

Ya, you have to have limitations so the guy with the most money doesn't win everything, so a spec ECU or other standard items are inevitable but it goes too far.

Let's get some racers on hot bikes and get out there, not some faked up crap with 'a great show' and guaranteed no hurt feelings and everyone gets to wave their favourite flag!!

What's next? We've already got 'Top Non Factory Guy' when do we start having participation trophies?!?!!
Not forgetting the wooden spoon for failing. Its one reason F1 is shit now, the cars look like dinky toys and ego driven morons driving them.

No, it's not a good thing but keep on pumping out the company line, Oxley.

I'll tell you what has gone shit, the WRC, remember when Fords entry was fire breathing Cosworth powered machines with wacky big spoilers? Well now it's a dinky Ford Fiesta.

Haven’t watched WRC in ages. I don’t even know who races in it anymore.

Wow, I see what you mean, not surprised Loeb and co have taken a back seat over the last few years, must feel like racing slot cars.
