If Dovi and JLo both depart Iannone would be useless unless there was someone to copy settings from? That is what Crutchlow would bring to the party . It's kind of like getting two riders to do the job of one though. If not Crutchlow, Petrucci, although he certainly gets lost some weekends. Jack has improved setting up his bike but he is probably benefiting from last years data as a base.

Knowing that - might push Ducati to improve their offer. What does he have to lose?
Honda is not going to offer Dovi any where near what Ducati is nor is anyone else.

to be fair, no one really knows what Ducati is offering. from media reports we can infer the two parties are far apart, is Dovi asking for to much or is Ducati low balling?

Gigi's comments over the weekend about developing a new chassis with Lorenzo over the next couple months, sort of make it sound like Lorenzo is sticking around.

Dovi is reportedly asking for 7mil and Ducati is reportedly offering 5 mil. They will more than likely settle at 6 mil.

Money wise, you are right, as those are rumored to be the numbers they are discussing about.

But it seems like it is also a matter of "honor" as Dovi wants to be considered the Team's first rider, he wants to see the developer's attention focused on him more than on Jorge, and he kinda wants to see that on paper aka: he wants to be making more money and getting more attention than Lorenzo.

Now Dovi and Lorenzo have been strongly disliking each other since they were on 125s, they both particularly hate being beaten by their team mate or to just see him in front of them in a race, so it is kinda obvious that if one is objectively doing so much better than the other on the very same bike he would want more attention. Even the most humble rider has a really big ego, it's just part of what they are.

I do not think Dovi is 100% right tho, as yes he is better right now but CV matters...5 titles against 1, 3 premier class titles against 0...I'd pick Dovi over Jorge any day but I think he took it a bit too far. Both him and Ducati need each other real bad, so they should just sign that fucking thing

Also, Dovi won’t sell a single Panigale or scrambler for Ducati.
J.Lo might.

Agreed, as a personality he won't but a world title as a separate entity might and it's obvious that he is Duc's best bet,(out of their existing riders) to win one.
You're right though, if an individual can get merchandise/products shifting out of showroom doors then they are a valuable asset.

If Dovi won a title he would add to this ...?

It'd be a shame if Dovi went to a less competitive team just for the money. Seems unlikely that he will take the championship away from MM who is his ascendancy, but he should at least reap the benefits and recognition he deserves.
