How - I would love to know, can you say that with such authority? If Arrib said so I would be more inclined to believe it without question.

He's not even in his own head.

Besides puzzling what makes this guy such an asshole is not a bad way to kill time between races.

However, there's no point arguing against a non-existent point. No-one here disputes that Petrucci did something dangerous. So it would be rather odd to endlessly castigate Petrucci. If I were to do that, I would sit here for years listing every dangerous incident by every rider on the grid.

Rather, the hot point of discussion is Marquez. For that reason, I analyze his conduct.
Well that's where we fundamentally disagree. You cannot look at Marquez in a vacuum considering all of the incidents that have happened in the last decade and a half of MotoGP. Marquez was penalized for something that Rossi was never penalized for in 2011. There is absolutely no consistency with the way penalties are handed out. He was only penalized 30 seconds because it was Rossi he was involved with. While it was perfectly acceptable for Rossi to torpedo Stoner, nearly torpedo him at LS08,run Gibernau off the track at Jerez, and so on. Not a single penalty was issued for any of these moves. Double standards in play by Race Direction or Dorna Direction. Hell when Iannone took Dovi out in the same corner at Argentina a couple of years ago, there was no penalty for that. We have multiple incidents of riders being torpedoed, and zero penalty being issued. The way these guys race is close and contact is inevitable, and mistakes do happen, yet none of it was penalized.

As Michael Scott said: I don’t want to come over as blindly approving of Marquez’s manic move on Rossi, when he could clearly have waited until one or two corners later with less risk. But I do believe it was a genuine mistake—locking up the front and consequently running wide onto a wet patch. And he was punished: by 30-seconds, which dropped him from fifth and out of the points.

Genuine mistakes happen and no other rider was so heavily penalized for it.

If you took my statement literally, you're beyond help.

The question is not whether he made a mistake, he obviously either made a riding error or if he is admitting to the former from political motives an error of judgement, even if the error was to expect Rossi to stand his bike up in the circumstance. I personally think neither rider on their different lines expected to end up on the same piece of tarmac; I think Rossi marginally had the line, but also more opportunity to avoid the collision when it was imminent.

What I don't agree with is your assessment of the move as reckless, it was a fairly routine racing incident and low on the scale of being egregious compared to more than a few incidents both riders have been involved in, and I concur with Michael Scott's view of Rossi's post race comments, and had already said much the same if a little more vehemently before his piece was posted. About the other incidents over the weekend I can make no comment, but it sounds like at least some of it was due to an RD/Dorna SNAFU at the start of the race, somewhat resembling the PI 2013 race when MM was actually rather than virtually black flagged which could have cost him the 2013 title.

This too fits with Rog's profile. Whoever this loser is, he's not someone new here. He makes far too many casual references to things from years before the name synn appeared here. Rog said he would no longer support Rossi when Rossi broke his pledge to ride for anyone sponsored by tobacco. This would be the perfect chickenshit way to get around not honoring his pledge.

Also a good workaround for the whole business of "his pride" not allowing him to return to the forum.

I'd be fine BTW - to have someone prove me wrong. I think it would be great if Rog had turned a new leaf and put all this behind him, not however a thing I'd bet money on.

I have never really known either Barry, but whatever it may be it is far too subtle for Synn which I believe he has finally realised.

I personally would leave Roger out of this, I regard him as having announced he was leaving for his own reasons and as having stuck to his word until proven otherwise, and would be very surprised if this was proven.

He was dyslexic, not stupid, in any case.
