Respect. The last time I did MMA I was the oldest by 12 years and I wore a heavy sparring session for about a month. It's a young man's game.
Anyone who gets into a ring/cage and puts it on the line has my respect, the same with racing.
There is nothing more humbling than getting a beating in front a group of people.
As for the Aussie rules, I used to love it when they televised the aussie vs gaelic rules match here in the UK.

The problem is, if we got rid of all the racists off here, we would just be left with massive homophobes - We probably need to keep both to achieve some kind of balance...

Yeah mate it's definitely a young mans game. I've been training with the same crew of people for about 10 years and everyone has some pain or something they can't do because of old injuries. It adds up, and as competitive people we all push through pain and injury so we keep going not realising the long term damage we were doing.
I love the hybrid rules games as well, I went to the one they had here late last year and it was great to see live. I'm glad they've been brought it back. If nothing else the Gaelic guys and the AFL guys don't have any other way to represent their country like most athletes they do and I think they deserve the opportunity.

I don't want to hijack the thread with MMA, but Robert Whittaker aka Bobby Knuckles is by far my favourite 185er. Considering he moved up from 170, the guy is a beast. A classy beast who can bang, but a beast nonetheless.

Unbelievable fighter. I didn't think he would beat Jacare or Romero, but did he deliver and he is still young and improving. Exciting guy to watch, I'm very excited for the Romero rematch. But with Romero you're always one mistake away from waking up as the former champion.

Whittaker, Romero and Khabib are my 3 favourites.

Whittaker and Khabib 100%.
Romero is an ultra freak (physically) and I mean that as a compliment, his fast-twitch explosiveness scares me half to death. The Tim Kennedy stool-gate didn't sit too well with me though.
I like Poirier and thought he showed real heart this weekend. There are some real killers coming up through the ranks now, but I swear I have never seen anyone with Khabib's ground game, not in terms of submissions, Bryan Ortega is a better sub guy, but for dominant positional grappling and commitment to takedowns, Khabib is beyond compare.

Khabibs grappling is unbelievable, he definitely favours position over submission in MMA but I've heard he does have a nasty sub game when he decides to use it and his sub defence is supposed to crazy. He just smashed guys once they're on the ground. I'm gonna make a pretty penny if McGregor does actually sign to fight him. Khabib has had 10 fights in the UFC and I don't think he's been in a bad position yet.
