I like Marc Marquez

here you go. I said it.

And it doesn't have much to do with all the Rossi drama, on which I'm on no one's side if you're wondering.

I LIKE MARC MARQUEZ. last year he's been the main rival for the title of my favorite rider ever, which he beat. He sure is overly aggressive at times. He sure doesn't give an eff about anything or anyone. He is a Spaniard, and as I'm Italian I shall feel a hatred against him for that, but I somehow do not (seriously guys, Spain is cool even tho I haven't been there for ages).

Marc Marquez is a rascal. But I have been watching this sport for my entire life (I'm 27 y/o) and I have never seen a rawest talent, nor a more spectacular rider to watch on the track (sorry Casey). He is the future of the sport and sure as heck he'll win more than 10 titles. He set the bar at a level that no one may be able to reach, ever.

As we are just about to witness his annual crazy Texas ride, I thought I'd share my thoughts about him.

My point is: if you hate this kid, you are not a real fan of this sport.

To anyone that'd like to roast me: keep in mind that I REALLY hope Dovi gets the title this year. And maybe next year too.

I highly recommend this. "from Cevera to Tokyo". Comes across as grounded, genuine - even self-deprecating and with a real love of racing.

Thanks mate. Must admit I've seen it several times already

But here's another really cool one about his whole 2017 season that I recently found out about. It's in Spanish but fully subtitled in English:

Glad to see an Italian not blinded by Rossi fever,i hope Dovi gets the title this year too, zero chance of Lorenzo winning it in what i think will be his last season on the red bike,i agree Marquez is exceptional and will go on to win many more as long as Rossi doesn't succeed in bringing him down off track as he knows Marquez has the beating of him on track

I was a Stoner fan obviously and preferred his riding style which was spectacular in a different way, and I could be/was greatly entertained watching him riding a lap on his own exploring the outer limits of the bike and the track as was his main focus. I would have loved to see a title battle between a fully focused Stoner (essentially his two title years) and MM, I won’t say peak MM because we may not have encountered that individual as yet. I liked what Nakomoto said early on about MM and Stoner, MM has faster reflexes but Casey was a genius on a bike.

I agree though, MM has the enormous talent, fire and steel to be the greatest ever and is very likely to win 10 or more titles (if Rossi doesn’t succeed in having him thrown out of the sport) which Stoner never ever had any prospect of doing.

I was fully on board with the Murder Marc thing after the Willairot incident, although I also thought the adult pit crew who charged up a teenager to go out on that post checkered flag lap deserved to be heavily penalised. I was going for Lorenzo in 2015, but really admired how MM stood up to Valentino and the Valeban without wilting unlike all predecessors, and also think he is a pure racer, everything his current critics including Valentino have always professed to admire.

Would have been intereating had Marc's and Casey's careers overlapped. Marquez was a force from the outset, had Stoner been his HRC offsider i don't believe he would have had been as dominant. It is the greatest what would be of our generation. We'll never know. I suspect it would have been the closest title fight in history.

They probably would have won a lot of battles, but Honda would have ended up losing the war.
