The majority don't think that way or have functioning eyes.

I could name a few here who seemed to think there was an actual competition between the two unfolding.

Oh wait.

He seems to think he is a contender, but favours MM to actually win. As has been said, MM would have a comfortable lead but for a rare Honda engine failure. He could always have another, or crash out of a race, in which case Dovi is right in contention, but failing such occurrences I don't think Dovi will beat him on the track in the remaining races win the title.

Judging by the last race, I would guess that Vinales is more of a contender. I got that he was saying just what has already been said. Anyway, I just like ribbing Keshav, because I like his posts and I think he knows it's just fun bench racing.

Literally no one under the sun that has watched motogp would think Dovi is better then Marc. Shit 2 minutes of google searching could teach one that. But I said before the season Dovi could be a contender. Key words could and also contender. It not like I or anyone said, I think Dovi could win the championship. Which should be said about Marc every year. Simply looking at what Dovi did last year taking the dnf's that were not his fault away and he has about the amount of points that he does now. Add to that the lack of a competitive JLo and it puts him even closer to the top. Another factor Marc and himself. We know he will throw some race away, just how many is unknown and will he miss a race or not. But Marc and Stoner are talked about as the best of all time. So its not a shock that everyone rates Dovi lower.

Grand Prix motorcycling legend Mick Doohan reckons Marc Marquez is "on another level" compared to his MotoGP title rivals.

Defending champion Marquez had a relatively slow start to the 2017 season, dropping 37 points off the championship lead after six races.

However, strong subsequent form, including four wins and seven podium finishes in the last eight races, has elevated the Honda rider to a 16-point lead in the standings over nearest rival Andrea Dovizioso.

Doohan, who was unbeatable in the 500cc motorcycle world championship between 1994 and 1998, considers Marquez better than the rest of the field.

"I think he is too strong at the moment, he is above his opponents," said Doohan.

"He is on another level. He is as good as [Valentino] Rossi - he is strong and confident, has a good bike, and gets better at races where he suffered last year.

"Marc keeps building up his already big confidence. His advantage in the championship is not very big, but he will be able to increase it in the next races."

Doohan reckons that, unlike Marquez, main rival Dovizioso is not able to "dominate" the top riders in MotoGP.

"Dovi is not in the same position of level as Marc," he added. "He has been fighting with the top riders for many years, but I don't know if he can really dominate them.

"But maybe I am wrong and Dovizioso will show it to me."

Wow, Doohan has praised MM by saying "he is as good as Rossi". But isn't Rossi a talentless fraud, who only won because Dorna scripted races?

When Gigi is practically praying for Marc to crash out, that tells you how much of a contender he really is.

Oh I'm already on record as saying Rossi has talent numerous times. At any rate, all one has to do is watch Rossi at Donington 2005 to know he has talent. One can think he is talented and still think he is a scumbag. Doesn't require any mental gymnastics to do such a thing.

I think what has been said is Dorna has actively attempted to manipulate the technical regulations to benefit Rossi. This year was a good example with Option #70's reintroduction at his request. That is quite accurate and not up for debate. Though you've been attempting to debate just that for a bit from what I can ascertain from the posts of yours I have read.

IMO here, but if Marquez wants to be a GOAT, he needs to firstly start thinking like a GOAT, then eating like a GOAT and finally, looking like a GOAT.

Now, this will mean some sacrifices as he will need to grow a larger face and let the hair grow, plus he will need to walk on all fours and start climbing some pretty steep hills.

But from what I have seen of him as a human, I do feel that he likes a challenge and can see him making a great fist of this being a GOAT, but it will take time so we can't expect him to suddenly become a GOAT although I do wait with interest the transition.

Afterall, he may well be 'trans species'
