If I recall, when it was first mooted in late 2015 (iirc), Rossi was one of the few who was in support of it. It says in the Crutchlow article that most riders were in support of it, but 3 have already spoken out against it.
I'm against it as well. Rossi's turning into a middle aged fart (I want my 10th).
I'd like to see one of those in favour have a big off due to it, before it becomes another mamby pamby F1 chicken shit party.

I'm against it.

Totally agree with Bradders and think it paves the way for Team Strategy to become the No1 influence.

Formula1 isn't far off being a scalectrix race in that it's just the teams placing cars in the right place, much of the time. The driver often has no clue what's going on, concerned with whether or not they'll "get the jump" in the pit stops. Dullsville.

I think that this idea is a progress and isn't so bad, I don't think that the MotoGP will be ever as the formula one. If there's an assistance for the riders "how could the things became wronger ? " yes maybe the victory will not depend on the pilot but also the team will have the proper celebration

Formula 1 started to go to shit the more the drivers were micromanaged. This move opens the door to that more and more.

Right now the messages are basic, but how long before MotoVR decides they need to be expanded on when Rossi fucks up and can't understand a message because it's not in his comically bad broken English?

One of the things that made the 2016 race at the Sachsenring so unpredictable was because there was no communication other than via pit board. Rossi fucked up, and rather than admit he was too stupid to heed the advice on his pit board, he started crying like usual to get a major rules change so he could be saved from himself.
Furiosa and MadMax like this.

I like your progress argument. However, I'd like to see it have more pertinence in the "real" modern world ....... and have the riders receive the message as an SMS on their phone ...... and deal with it as they ride.

Agreed. Then the next step is allowing the teams to monitor and evenutally configure the bike software during the race.

What information can they give they don't already get from a pit board, they're always telling them to turn the traction control up or down or change the ECU mode.

yes probably Rossi had wronged at the sachsenring because he should return at the box to change the bike and if there was an advice in his pit bord probably he could arrive in the podium
