I'm not so sure I'm expressing conceit rather than anger and disgust, but I will take your point. I've never been very good at expressing my opinions whilst angry, that hasn't stopped me from posting diatribes. Curse of having access so readily to the soapbox.

I was trying to express my negative reaction at self-promotion at the expense of such an awful tragedy. It basically pissed me off and took to expressing it while angry. There have been several fantastic tributes, I felt this smacked of shameless brand promotion and sympathy seeking.

I do cringe at my own posts sometimes, I suppose I should adopt a more mild writing style. The hubris of pointing out I'm far up my arse, as you put it, isn't lost on me. I've gone back to edit my post and attached a disclaimer.

I Ride: Mini rice rocket.
Among all these 69s, I liked the black ribbon of Pedro the best.

If he is profiting off the sale of #69 memorabilia he is a scumbag of the highest degree. If he used it as an opportunity to fund a nice charity in Nicky's name i would be ok with that It will be interesting to see if that helmet replica is offered to the public, and to see where the money goes.

Have you seen anything, at all, that would indicate Rossi is profiting from this?

Anyone wanting to get outraged should go to Ebay. It was pointed out to me that there were RIP T-shirts available there, less than two hour after it was reported that Nicky had passed. Takes your breath away.

Ask yourself what's the focus of such a design, 46-9? Answer: Rossi made it about him, self-promotion of 46 brand by attaching the design to Nicky's number, that is brand value. Value. You don't have to directly make a dime. Charity work is often about self promotion, and that entails "giving money" away, the meager price of goodwill. Big business do it all the time. Rossi is ever aware of promoting his brand. This is a tribute to himself using Nicky's good name. Rossi attaching Nicky's number to his brand is opportunistic, sympathy whoring and brand grandiosity.

If you want to buy merchandise that supports Nicky, buy from here: https://www.gpracingapparels.com

His family said that is where to go along with another site I forget.

Dorna have blocked the video, so I can't really make an informed comment, but 46 is definitely a brand name for Rossi more than anything now, and on the face of it even if not really thought out by him I tend to agree it is towards being tawdry to combine it with Nicky's number in the way he seems to have done.

After the events of late season 2015 I do think it possible though that he lives so much in his own world that he and Uccio genuinely think this is the best way for them to honour Nicky.

IMO only here, but for me, the VR helmet tribute to Nicky would be significantly better if the US flag was the backdrop to the Nicky number 69 component of the combined numbers.

I say this as when I think of Nicky's number I always think of the stars and stripes component

I read you're post as coming from the heart not the arse, then again I have no issue with Theos response either. Thats the forum for me, the less politically correct the better, so I hope you never go mild writing style. Jumkie mild? No way. Ive said it before I honestly find the forum far less entertaining when your not around. Now before this gets seen as a love fest there were times where Jumkie and I disagreed on just about every topic. On this topic though I happen to agree.

This helmet tribute was class:
