I read some interesting stuff in this week's Motociclismo.

Casey @ Camel Yamaha or stays Honda

Casey's dad was spotted talking with Lin Jarvis, Yamaha's Euro boss. None of them acknowledged talking about a possible contract with Yamaha but it wasn't neccesary it was too obvious.

Also HRC's boss stated in the press conference that they wan to keep Casey even if Cechinello fails to get a sponsor and set a team.

Actually the only Honda rider not safe is Tamada for 2007.

Yamaha has also put their eyes on Lorenzo and Barberá, it seems Yamaha want to get some youth in their teams.

Ducati is also interested in Lorenzo, though it's not confirmed.

I`m thinking this is Tamada`s last year in the premier class. The guy`s been too slow for too long. I know it`s got a lot to do with the tyres, but guys like Rossi, Meladri and Pedrosa are winning races on michelins. I think it`s proof that while he might be a good rider, Tamada can`t adapt very well, so even if he moves to a new team he won`t be able to make a comeback.
Not surprised Yamaha want some young talent. Once they lose Rossi they`re fked. And Edwards is getting a bit long in the tooth, too.
If Ducati were to take Lorenzo, would they sack Gibbers or Capriex? I got a feeling it`d be Gibbers. They love Capirossi too much. Or (Hopefully not) would they put him on the D`antin team. Not likely if other teams want him too, they`ll have to make a decent offer.

cecchinello will try everything in his power to keep a hold of casey now ....

stoner is extremely happy with his bike and Honda ... so IMO yamaha dont have a chance

would be good to see lorenzo on a ducati, but i doubt that he is ready for the bigger bikes as of yet ..... let just see if he can show some consistency this year, he's doin well so far.
there probably only saying that coz Ducati want some young blood.

i dont think there will be too many change this year, last year had too much if a shuffle as it was.

At this rate Cecchinello wont be able to afford Crashey and the competitive bike he`s gonna want. Either he gets a decent sponsor, HRC help him out, or they do away with him and move crashey to another sattelite team. Maybe with a returned Pons team or Tamada`s seat at Konica Minolta. It`d be better to have him on a 1 rider team. He`d make a shit teammate.

do you REALLY think pons is gonna come back? ... sounded like a "wanna, gonna, shoulda" kind of thing to me...

if he stays up front with the big boys and finishes in a decent position, sponsors will come streaming in...

Honda are desperate to keep him ... they have all the fresh blood and want to keep it ...

but the most likely situation seems that he would take Tamadas seat

oh yeah BTW he'd only make a shit team mate in ur opinon matey...

Pons return is looking more and more likely, but If I told you Rossi will only get one win, a crash and a DNF in the first races of 2006 six months ago, would you belive me? This sport is just too unpredictable.

And with his current attitude, I can`t see Crashey getting along with any rider the way Hopper and Vermulen seem to, or OJ and Nakano, or Gibernau and Capriex or even Rossi and Edwards.

Honda will do everything in their power to keep Stoner aboard. However, the prospect of a factory ride and working with Jeremy Burgess after Rossi is gone has to be very appealing.

Do you think it's possible Yamaha will help find the Tech 3 team some money so they could get Barbera and Lorenzo as a package deal like they did with OJ and Nakano in 2001? That wouldn't surprise me, two very sponsor friendly up and comers could be just what the team needs. And a switch back to Michelin rubber.

Tech 3 and D`antin are really only just holding on financially, they can only really keep up with each other. I dont think Yamaha really has that much intrest in them. Dunlop help them more than Yamaha do. And that`d be because theyre the best MotoGP team Dunlop can sign right now. Michelin wouldnt care about them one bit. Without Dunlop, the team would financially collapse. Theres no way they could find the money to PAY michelin for tyres. They couldnt afford Two up and comers outta 250s either. I think the prospects are pretty slim there
