Maybe you guys can help ...



I know that the amount of testing that the teams are allowed to do is a lot less than in the past but is it having a detrimental affect on the series? This is prompted by something said on Eurosport yesterday about the lack of wild cards and having thought on it by the failure of Rossi & Ducati this year and the Honda chatter issues.



Firstly, does it reduce costs that much? Secondly, why is that the riders can only a proportion of the testing and the rest must be done by test riders? Thirdly, do the CRT teams get more testing time and if that's the way it's going, surely they should get more? Finally, would more testing make the sport safer as there would be more time to solve issues without having to make guesses due to time restraints?

Testing is significantly increased over previous years: http://www.motogp.com/en/motogp+basics/testing



The number of wild cards is down to the availability of bikes to ride. No bike, no wild card ride.



Suzuki made Hoppers/Vermuelens second bike available for wildcard rides in the States. but other than that, not many factory bikes have been - apart from when riders are injured.



CRT leaves the way open, as we saw at Indy - two wild cards on superbike-based rides with prototype chassis.
