Greatest of all time... quite a powerful statement.

When i think of GOAT its not only about the most wins or most titles a person has achieved. To me, its about someone who overcomes difficulties on a consistent basis and makes the impossible happen. Someone who doesnt bitch and moan when the competition gets tough, but stares right at it and says fuck it, im gonna give it all i have. Someone who takes responsibilities for their actions and decisions.

I definitely feel that Rossi is not worthy of GOAT status nor does he act like the GOAT. The past 4 seasons has been nothing but crying, bitching, moaning and even blaming others for his lack of producing a good result. Im definitely growing tired of him and his crying, and i definitely think he is not acting like someone who is the GOAT.

I remember reading something where he claims that racing a motorcycle to victory comes down to 2 things, the rider and the bike. 80% rider and 20% bike(correct me if im wrong). He was pretty much dead last a few days ago...

Valentino is still very much in the discussion for the goat (if there is any point having one). Even if he doesn't eventually get results on the ducati and retires without going elsewhere this will be remembered as an aberration at the end of his career. Eddie lawson is remembered for his 4 world championships not his relative lack of success at cagiva, although he somehow won a race on a cagiva.

He could have retired with an absolutely unquestionable status if he had retired after his 2008 or 2009 world championships though.

Sorry Digger, not intended at you.

Just can't believe there is another thread debating whether Rossi is the greatest ever.

Thankfully, it has not yet deteriorated into 10 pages of the usual Rossi -v- Stoner bullshit slagging match I expected.
