Mods may want to merge this with a similar thread....

Time for the broom in 2012 ( dont make the mistake of seeing this thread as contreversey ) for a coupla riders namely Capirossi,Edwards,Hayden (who I support),Elias and RdP.These guys have been in MotoGP a long time and for me their time is over.No longer is the trophy detined to come their way and I think its time to make way for younger or more talented blood.I dont see a valid reason for these guys to be there in 2012 apart from what it says on their contracts ! Times have moved on and so should they................shit it hurts when you have to retire your favorite rider.......

Extremely good point ........ now go out and get it to happen!! it needs someone to start publicly saying it, so I vote for you to push for it.

+1 edwards just got a podium a couple of weeks ago, it seems to me he is still good enough.

Yes ,I know bud,but will he ever be champ?NO. Although Colin is very useful in bringing on and guiding his teammate ,time will run out for him eventually.I will say that CE2 is top of the `veteran` crop though.

Well buddy, what's the criteria? Maybe Simocelli should go since he sits so low in points? Didn't they get rid of Toesland because he had a poor season? How about Rossi, isn't he a senior with a poor season? I see your list, but no rationale, why even list riders then? Or is it just age? Ok, so lets get rid of the "old guys' since the 'young guys' can't beat them? I think anybody on a Ducati gets an automatic pass. What about Suzuki, should they get a pass? How about we give everybody a pass not on a factory Honda or Yamaha?

Shouldn't the criteria be who is under performing coupled with a bit of analysis of their machine, as appose to age?

There in lies the RdP problem.....he has a reputation that the top teams just will not touch. He`s off to Kawasaki SBK in 2012 anyhow...I wish him luck.

Well friend, Rdp did well while on a Honda. Not sure I would rush to judge the guy while on a Kwaker, or even worse, 'Ducati'.

Yes,his Honda time was something special,I must admit.Wasn`t he carrying the leg injuries that season? A fit RdP on the Honda is a memorable experience.
