Looks like the 3rd place at Catalunya mean't more than it seemed.

I doubt this decision was made in the last 3 days. These negotiations usually take months, im sure this one was no different.

Im glad to hear he got an extension. I hope to see him on the podium again at Britain. His battle all race last year at this track was awesome to watch. The over take for 3rd place form Nicky Hayden was smooth an shows people Ben has what it takes to be recognized as one of the greats of the sport. Spies has had bad luck this season, and now that he got his confidence back with his 3rd place finish at Barcelona ... im sure we will see more top 3 finish's from here on out. Go Spies

He's been in negotiations since Jerez or perhaps earlier.

I think that Yamaha are looking at Spies as an investment for the change to 1000cc.

And I think that this would have been negotiated over quite a lengthy period.

Well Viper - are you starting to get the picture??? Is it beginning to dawn on you that maybe this forum is not the right place for you? Or do you plan to continue irritating everyone with your insipid posts and pointless threads? Try Crash-Net. It's good to be with your own kind.
