What if Rossi loses this years championship???

My personal impression is, that for the fans of MotoGP AND Rossi Rossi can be considered unbeaten to this day. the loss of the championship in 2006....ok...I like hayden and he is good, but we all know that if rossis bike hadnt been broke a few times he would have made it and in 2007 the ducati was simply unbeatable (of course stoner was good! very good! no question!).

but NOW Rossi has an opponent on the SAME material who is fast and both went down approx. the same number of times this year!

what do you think?

if rossi loses against lorenzo: would it be considered any how different than gainst the other two riders? do you think the fans would think he finally has found his "master" in lorenzo? do you think this "best rider in the world" image would begin to vanish?

cause I think so!

Rossi ain't got no problem, he is the GOAT, no question. But even the GOAT can be beaten and if Whore-gay wins it this year (by sheer will power), Rossi will punish him next year.

No - he's far too venerable for that.

Also, regarding the championship, he has a one race cushion. Like CK recently observed, unless his M1 takes a crap, or he lobs it at some point, which is very unlikely, such a points advantage to the Doctor is otherwise unassailable. Indy has made the Championship more intriguing, but I'd say that Vale has this wrapped up. I'd say Valentino has two definite race wins in Phillip Island and Sepang and I can't see him finishing off the block in the races that remain.

But then can Casey throw a spanner in the Yamaha works?

Passi, that is a very BIAS assessment buddy.

Ok, how about I form a thread topic like this: Can Rossi's MotoGP titles be considered legit since all of them were on superior machines, special tires, and preferential treatment?

In 08 Rossi won because his competitors crashed, just like your 06 assessment. So he doesn't deserve that title. In 09, if he wins, he doesn't deserve that one because his greatest challenger was sick, so he doesn't deserve this one either, etc. etc. So I conclude that ROSSI HAS NEVER BEATEN ANYBODY. Are we really still claiming that the Ducati was "unbeatable"?? Not one single rider has been competitive on the bike except Casey Stoner. It sure looks like the Yam is the best bike in the field at the moment. Is that the only reason a guy like Lorenzo has a chance? It's just the bike huh. Rossi's fanatics just can't admit that the guy can and has been beaten.

Yes bro, its 09 and its still happening. Amazing really after dispelling and debunking this theory.

Yes, Rossi is great, but he's been beaten (fact), its a rare thing for sure, but it did and does happen.

oh well...thats a good point jumkie! think you're right there!!!

but with the ducati thing:

my opinion is, it simply fitted stoners needs perfectly! rossi DEVELOPED his bikes, casey didnt have to!!! rossi = complete racer! (and i say it again: i LOVE the series itself!! i have more "motogp"-caps, then caps of any rider!!! ;-)=

my question was:

after U saw hayden and stoner beat rossi....U didnt really see the fans "run away" from rossi! (of course who would is no real rossifan but only opportune.
but lorenzo does more show than the other riders and would win on same material! so: do you think youd see more and more lorenzocaps / shirts, etc. and always less rossi-stuff?

you know what i mean! (my english is too bad to express my self more clearly! (<= always a good aplology for writing crap! )

greetz!
