The new MotoE World Championship is already ‘messing’ with the public expectations , at a stage where there are already some confirmations from the riders on the grid.A total of 18 riders will compete in five races at a distance believed to be between seven and ten laps in Jerez, Le Mans, Sachsenring, Spielberg and Misano. The Energica Evo Corsa will be the protagonist of service, reaching 100 kilometers per hour in less than three seconds. The confirmationsDynavolt Intact will have European Moto2 champion Jesko Raffin at the helm of his machine while LCR will have Randy De Puniet, a rider with extensive experience in multiple world championships. As for Nieto Team, the plan is to have Nico Terol on track. Pramac, meanwhile, will have Fonsi Nieto as star in this championship. For Gresini will be Matteo Ferrari. The doubtsOther than that, just a few names are certain. Maria Herrera was considered and can still be confirmed, such as Alex de Angelis or Troy Corser, it being certain that Stefan Bradl refused proposals from MotoE as well as Scott Redding. Tech3 should feature Kenny Foray and Broc Parkes, names still to be confirmed officially. Dominique Aegerter is trying to stay in Moto2 but the Supersport World Championship and MotoE are also possibilities. Sandro Cortese and Bradley Smith have also been associated with MotoE, but for now it’s all rumors, not least because Smith will be Aprilia’s MotoGP test rider and Cortese will fight for the Supersport world title.

Sete Gibernau, double sub-champion of the MotoGP world, will participate in the new MotoE World Championship

The Spanish driver joins PONS Racing in the new challenge of electric competition

The PONS Racing , team led by Sito Pons , will Sete Gibernau in their ranks in the new FIM World Cup Enel MotoE that next season will premiere 2019.

The Spanish driver Sete Gibernau , with eleven seasons in the top category of motorcycling behind him, will return to put on the overalls before a new challenge in his sports career with PONS Racing, team with which he already ran in 1995 in the category of 250cc

The new MotoE category is the first electric motorcycle competition recognized by FIM and, in its first season, it will have five races and 18 drivers.

Without a doubt, this union will lead the pilot and team to be one of the protagonists of the new MotoE World Cup.

On the occasion of the Valencia Grand Prix, driver and team will give a press conference on Friday, November 16 at 17:45 in the hospitality of the team.

Sete Gibernau, PONS Racing MotoE driver

"The world is moving in a new direction and I want to know where it is going"

"Of course, I never thought that I would participate in a motorcycle championship since I retired permanently, but life always keeps surprises, after 10 years retired and without competing, here I am. I thank Sito for the opportunity he has given me. Having insisted so much to convince me and make this new challenge in my life a new illusion, I will work hard to live up to the call of someone like Sito, and it makes me really excited to live and pilot this new generation of electric bikes and to do my bit to its development, besides being able to say that I will have piloted the three generations of motorcycles that have gone through the World Motorcycle Championship, the past of the two times, the present of the four times and the future of the electric "

Sito Pons, main team

"Desde el momento que Sete aceptó el compromiso de participar en el campeonato de MotoE, tuve la certeza de que está preparado y dará lo mejor de sí".

"When the new MotoE World Championship appeared, we were clear that we wanted to be present, without a doubt, electric motorcycles are destined to be the future of motorcycling and to be part of it makes us proud and passionate. We were clear that we had to have an experienced pilot and I do not see any better option than Sete Gibernau to join this project, I know his ability, his pride and his pride, since Sete accepted the commitment to participate in the project. MotoE championship I was sure that he is prepared and will give his best, as he has always done in his sports career to fight for the top positions. His experience and ability is what makes him the reference in the category.I am very happy to have him and I want to start working together on this new challenge. I can't stop being reminded by the ridiculous name beginning E as in its electric and so for me it will be the Singer Sewing Machine series.
