this is the direction that the industry is heading, I think its a smart move to add it to the Motogp program. The problem with Formula-E is that it doesn't tag along with a mainstream racing series like F1, so traditional race fans are not exposed to it.

Sure. And the electric motor is a much better engine, so much more efficient and effective than any piston-rod fossil fuel contraption.
I'm not talking ecology here, just motor performance. 100% torque from zero, fancy that. Doing away with clumsy trasmission. One compact motor on each wheel's axle, electronically controlled to balance traction on each wheel in real time. Two-wheel traction finally feasible on motorcycles... Etc etc. Bring it on.

True as it is, that we're all going electric, internal combustion engines are way more interesting and impressive to me from a technological point of view.

That they ever got them working in the first place to where they are now, so reliable, so much better than 50 years ago.

Think of all the science and engineering that goes into each part: a tire, a brake disc, an expansion chamber, the fuel itself. Amazing stuff.

As a side note ..... I now have the ability ti charge my electric mountainbike totally solar. It is hella cheaper .... but not as good on rainy days.

Did a price comparo when charging via fosil fuels though:

Emtb <10c per 50km
Car $4 per 50km
Moto $2 per 50km

True! But for now I will enjoy driving this very car! Less than 13,000 in the USA, and I'm glad to have one with the 6sp manual.

But the clumsy transmission is the best part!

Call me a fossil, but given the choice between 100% torque from zero RPM and the razor thin power and torque band of a stroker, I will take the latter any day.

A performance-tuned electric motor is the only thing that can beat a GP 2-stroke engine in terms of instant power.

I sure did! Got me a 2017 brand spanking new & I've re badge it back to original. All major auto publication says it will be a collector car with time. Based on the used prices on the Pontiac G8GXP "VE Commodore" safe to say they appear to be accurate.

What is John Cadogan beef with Australian manufactured cars?
