Ahhh, Arrabb. What fun. You really shouldn't get so het up. You know I was being provocative.
What would this site be if we couldn't turn a typo into a refutation of a whole argument? Simulation/Stimulation.

Actually the comment re: Kaaden was a bitchy roundabout effort to 1) bag Oxley's book and 2) hope you've got Ray Battersby's Suzuki book. Which is effin' brilliant.

Aprilia not having a inertia dyno was from talking with one of the the engineers on the engine side around 2007?(he will remain anonymous to deflect accusations of name drops). Something that was further confirmed in by the guys leading engine development there (no name drops) on various 2T engine threads that emerged over the last few years...were you privy to the recent Ryger engine farce? That was simultaneously amusing and disappointing)

Did I say that about AMA/Nicky? I don't remember. That certainly sounds like I was talking bollox

Jesus. Malcolm Roberts is known outside of Australia? The man shouldn't be known out of an Asylum

The draw of Moto2 is how cheap it is to go racing, if you polled the teams, they would love to stay with the Honda engine because of familiarity. I wouldnt be surprised if Honda continued to supply the engines if its profitable to do so
Even in that a 140hp 600 from a cbr has not a great deal of work done.

I extracted 143 from mone with none else than a decent filter, plug upgrade and power commander unit. Though i must say biggest gains were when i properly got my moriwaki 4-1-2 exhaust flowing, and tuned to the lung capacity it provided.

Edit: 94hp stock.

103hp with dna filter and rudimentary pcIII settings.

Once pipe was delivered from japan, fitted and dynoed, healthy 140hp.

Is a weapon, sharper than i need.
Thing is detuned through winter to 110hp.

It's fine, I'm not het up...but I have, bar attending a very dull match yesterday afternoon, been bed bound with a fever, so I if I gave the impression of being hot under the collar then that is why.

Ah! - very good...way too subtle though. I suppose in hindsight I have on occasions come across as Oxley's online agent, but in fairness 'Stealing Speed' is a damn fine read. Shit! 'Team Suzuki', I don't have it but I borrowed it from the local library not that long after it came out. It's probably out of print now - I'm sure I can find on on Amazon. Excellent suggestion.

When you had the services of Jan Thiel...that was all you needed.

Well you see there you go, the Ryger Engine, fascinating stuff - theoretically a case in point. Overmars headed the team didn't he? Wasn't it supposed to yield 30% more power than a comparable GP 125 2T with double the rev ceiling? It was also supposed to have a massive reduction in emissions...everything we've been talking about really. Please divulge anything you know...and on this occasion, do feel at liberty to name drop Doc.

Team Suzuki is available directly from Battersby's website. Just a google away. Not stupidly expensive, either.
Frits was involved with Ryger, don't think he was head of the project, just a consultant? but he has an NDA...so no joy there. They ran one in a kart as a demo...but completely fucked their homologation via unreliability and not exactly meeting expectations. I lost interest even before the homologation failure. Wayyy too good to be true.
I need to find the forum my mate posts on and where he had Ray B pop up (under a pseudonym) to talk Degner and Kaaden. Can't for the life of me remember what it was, but it did inspire Ray to go and correct Wikipedia.
Get well. More fun when you ain't grumpy

Actually, I am grumpy - I'm off work in bed and would you believe there's a fucking chainsaw next door disturbing the peace and hewing off large sections of a particularly mature silver birch having just taken down a lovely ash. Some of the residents around here are like legions of Saraman's orcs - any foliage seems to offend and has to be ripped out.

Found the Battersby book on Amazon.
