TT 2017 (SPOILERS)

One week today is the start of practice week with racing to get started on the 3rd.

Biggest news for this years TT is that 23 time winner John McGuinness has now been officially ruled out due to his crash at the North West 200. His teammate Guy Martin is still competing but with a year out of racing and on a new bike which is far from sorted I can't see him being competitive outside of the TT Zero race.

It's as you were with Ian Hutchinson as he remains with Tyco BMW in the Superbike and Superstock classes and remains with McAMS Yamaha in the Supersport class which he has dominated the last two visits to the island, he's been fast at the recent North West 200 and has had a win and a couple of podiums in the National Superstock championship.

The TT outright lap record holder Michael Dunlop remains with the Hawk Racing team in the Superbike class although this year running the new Suzuki GSX-R1000, in the Superstock and Supersport classes he will be running a GSX-R1000 and Yamaha R6 under his own MD Racing banner as well as a McAdoo Kawasaki in the Lightweight TT. Michael hasn't done a lot of racing this year but has set personal best times at Donington Park and Oulton Park in British Superbikes and has been on the podium at the North West 200 in the second Supersport race and was a competitive 4th on the big Suzuki in the feature Superbike race.

Former British Superbike Champion Josh Brookes returns to the TT after a 2 year absence while racing in World Superbikes, he joins the Norton team alongside fellow Australian David Johnson for the Superbike and Senior races who gave the Norton its best finish of 7th in the Superbike TT last year. Brookes will also be competing in the Lightweight TT for the first time onboard a Ryan Farquhar built Kawasaki.

Manxman Conor Cummins will be riding Hondas for Padgetts alongside Bruce Anstey who will once again be running the RC213V-S machine in the Superbike and Senior races and will be looking to add to his 11 TT wins.

William Dunlop will be chasing his first TT win on an all Yamaha set up with R1 Superbike and Superstock bikes leant to him by the owners of the former Mar-Train Racing team as well as an IC Racing R6 in the Supersport class, William has also shown some good form on the Irish roads this year especially on the 600 with a win at Cookstown and a second place in the second Supersport race at the NW200 just ahead of brother Michael.

Dean Harrison and James Hillier will be looking to add to their single wins and recent other podiums at this years TT while Lee Johnston is looking to add a win to the podiums he got last year while BSB regular Peter Hickman will be aiming to improve on his impressive form in recent visits to the TT as he comeptes for the 4th time.

The Sidecar class will be competitive as always with world champions Ben Birchall and Tim Reeves as well as sidecar TT legend Dave Molyneux always fast, former winners Conrad Harrison and John Holden return for 2017 with new passengers, Conrad with Holdens former passenger of 11 years Andy Winkle and John with Manxman Lee Cain.

Any early predictions for the races guys? Anyone heading over? I'm over from the 6th if anyone's up for a meet up?

They cancelled last nights practice session due to poor visibility on the mountain. Got to wait until Monday now.

Seems like the organisers are making exceptions to the rule regarding the mountain license to allow Guy Martin to race, you need to complete a race at 6 events per year to qualify for the license, Guy has only raced at Tandragee, Cookstown and the North West in the last 12 months.

The wednesday session was cancelled after an hour due to deteriorating conditions, the weekend is supposed to be nice but next week is a washout, I don't think there will be any racing if it carries on like this, still going over on tuesday for me holiday though rain or shine.

No practice session tonight either. This almost certainly means no racing on saturday.
